Video: "The Big Blackout: Debunking The Myths of Power Privatisation"

By Daniel Chavez & Satya Sivaraman

"The Big Blackout: Debunking the Myths of Power Privatisation" is a video released in late 2003, produced by TNI Fellow Daniel Chavez and Indian filmmaker Satya Sivaraman. The film gives a global perspective on power reforms from India to Colombia and Brazil to South Africa. With plenty of empirical evidence on the negative impact of privatisation and deregulation on consumers, workers and society as a whole, the film suggests ways to create democratic and sustainable alternatives.

Satya Sivaraman (Satya Sagar) is now an Associate Editor of Countercurrents.org. He can be reached at [email protected]
