With the "Occupy Wall Street" protest in its third week, its reach is growing and the movement shows no signs of slowing down.
On Wednesday, several unions in New York endorsed "Occupy Wall Street" and plan to join the protesters on city streets. In Boston, in a protest dubbed "Occupy Boston," a citywide college walkout is scheduled. The Massachusetts Nurses Association reports that hundreds of the city's nurses will rally with the "Occupy Boston" protestors.
Over the past two week, demonstrators have addressed issues in big cities such as New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and Chicago, as well as in smaller cities scattered across the United States. The movement has gone global with protestors taking a stand in Canada, Japan and Europe.
The leaderless movement, originally started by twentysomethings disgusted with everything from the state of the economy to unemployment to police brutality to the war in Afghanistan to greed and waste on Wall Street has attracted followers young and old from all walks of life.
