10 Persons Hospitalized From Malud Jal Satyagrah

The Indira-Sagar Jal-satyagarh which started on 1st of September continued with the same determination even on the 12th day. Large number of men and women in villages of Malud, Nandana, Piplani and Lachhora from the Khandwa district and the village Mel-Pipariya have been continuously in water during this Jal-satyagarh.
Deteriorating physical health of the Satyagarhis: 10 people from Malud hospitalized
On the 12th day, physical health of a lot of satyagarhis continued to deteriorated. 7 women and 3 men from Malud had to be hospitalized. Mulchand, Poonam, Leelabai, Sheelabai, Sumanbai, Savitribai and Sodrabai had to be taken to Community Health Centre. The Jal-Satyagarh at Piplani, Lachora and Nandana continued with the same vigour and enthusiasm. Jal-Satyagarh at Hanifbad in Harda district and Mel-Pipliya in Dewas continued with the same determination.
Demonstration at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi in support of the Jal-Satyagarh
Today representatives from various people’s organisations demonstrated at the Madhya Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi in support of the Indira-Sagar Jal-satyagarh. Representatives from National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM), Khudai Khidmatgar, Jan Sangharsh Vahini, Shahari Mahila Kamgar Union, INSAF etc participated in this demonstration. They met the assistant Resident Commissioner and submitted a memorandum for Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh demanding immediate enforcement of the rehabilitation policy so that just demands of all the Indira Sagar affected persons are met.
Representatives of various People's organisations meet Jal-Satyagarhi to express support
Various organisation across the nation have expressed their support to the Jal-Satyagarh. Shri Vimal Bhai, Matu Jan Sangthan, Uttarkhand and Bilaal Khan from Natinoal Alliance of People’s Movements reached Hanifabad in Harda district and Malud in Khandwa district and expressed their support for the Jal-Satyagarh. This group will visit other Jal-Satyagarh sites to express their support.
Jal Satyagrah in Hoshangabad in support of Indira Sagar Jal Satyagrah
In support of Indira Sagar Jal Satyagrah, Nari Jagriti Manch, Satpuda Mahila Sangthan, Kisan Adiwasi Sangthan and Samajwadi Jan Parishad had called for a Jal Satygrah at Sethani Ghat in Hoshangabad. Large police force barricaded the spot and arrested people trying to reach the Narmada river Sethani Ghat. They were later released.
