Requiem For Rohith

By Cynthia Stephen

24 February, 2016
Countercurrents.org

Blue is the colour of the sky.
Blue is the colour of the sea.
Blue is the colour
Of the earth seen from space.
Blue is the colour
Of Babasaheb’s suit.

Blue is the colour of the flags that
Stood up strongly to the gusts of
Anti-national violence and
Extra-constitutional authority.

Blue was the flag on which you flew to reach the stars.

We look up, and see hope.

Can you see the candles burn and flicker in the twilight?
