Anti-Racist Jews Critical Of Apartheid Israel

The US lackey Australian political Establishment permits egregiously false Zionist defamation of anti-racist Jews critical of the ongoing horrendous human rights abuses of Apartheid Israel . This unacceptable abuse amounts to anti-Jewish anti-Semitism and is occurring in addition to the horrendous anti-Arab anti-Semitism implicit in the Australia's complicity in the ongoing Palestinian Genocide (2 million Palestinian deaths from violence or violently-imposed deprivation since 1936, 90% of Palestine ethnically cleansed, 7 million Palestinian refugees, 6 million of 12 million Palestinians forbidden from even stepping foot in their own country) and the Zionist-backed US War on Muslims ( 12 million Muslim deaths from violence or war-imposed deprivation since 1990).
For anti-racist Jews and indeed all anti-racist humanitarians the core moral messages from the Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million dead, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation) and from the more general WW2 European Holocaust (30 million Slav, Jewish and Gypsy dead) are “zero tolerance for racism”, “never again to anyone”, “bear witness” and “zero tolerance for lying”. Only about a dozen of my wider family survived the WW2 Jewish Holocaust in Europe . “Never again” means for me and other anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish people that we are obliged to protest any human rights abuses i.e. “Never again to anyone”, including the sorely oppressed Palestinians.
The Australian taxpayer-funded ABC (the Australian equivalent of the UK BBC) and the universities-funded website The Conversation have been involved in continued sidelining, censorship and blocking of humane, anti-racist, scholarly views of people critical of horrendous US-backed Israeli human rights abuses. They have compounded this by continuing to publish utterly false, pro-Zionist defamation of me (and implicitly or actually other like humanitarians critical of such Israeli abuses) as “anti-Semitic”, defamation that when applied to anti-racist Jewish humanitarians constitutes utterly obnoxious anti-Jewish anti-Semitism.
I have repeatedly complained about this continuing censorship and defamation to the Australian Labor Government, the ABC, and The Conversation and its backing institutions, but they are unmoved, bringing shame on Australia . [1, 2, 3]. Using the ABC and The Conversation Search devices, I have documented the numerous instances of these continuing, highly obnoxious abuses by the taxpayer-funded ABC and the taxpayer-funded The Conversation that I regard as (1) intimidatory cyberbullying and false criminal defamation and (2) to quote the AFP in relation to a current high profile but in my view vastly less serious alleged matter, “offences of dishonestly causing a risk of a loss to the commonwealth” - using taxpayer-funded resources to defame and intimidate Australians, thereby damaging them, Australia and its institutions and with the only beneficiaries being a nuclear terrorist, genocidally racist, international law-violating rogue Apartheid state and its Australian supporters.
I have sent the following further letter to Australian MPs, universities and media: “The taxpayer-funded ABC and the universities-funded website The Conversation have variously crossed a line with continued sidelining, censorship and blocking of humane, anti-racist, scholarly views critical of horrendous US-backed Israeli human rights abuses. They have compounded this betrayal of public decency by continuing to publish utterly false, pro-Zionist defamation of such humanitarian Australians as “anti-Semites”, defamation that when applied to anti-racist Jewish humanitarians constitutes utterly false, unacceptable, ugly, threatening and damaging anti-Jewish anti-Semitism. Repeatedly apprised of this continuing censorship and defamation, the Australian Labor Government, the ABC, and The Conversation and its backing institutions are unmoved, bringing shame on Australia . The assertion "anti-Semitic" and similar false defamations remain posted on the Late Night Live and The Conversation websites and must be removed. I am referring this continuing defamation not just to the ABC, The Conversation, complicit universities, the Australian Federal Police, and national and overseas media, but also to Australian MPs with a renewed recommendation that targeted funding cuts for the ABC and other complicit institutions might help put a stop to this continuing criminal defamation that threatens all anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish Australians who are inescapably obliged to protest horrendous American and Israeli human rights abuses.” The Silence is deafening.
This kind of false, defamatory, and intimidatory abuse directed at anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish critics of Apartheid Israel by racist Zionists and their collaborators is widespread world-wide, its vitriol matching the genocidal atrocities it seeks to hide - 2 million Palestinian deaths from violence (0.1 million) or from imposed deprivation (1.9 million) since 1936; over 7 million Palestinian refugees; 90% of the land of Palestine has now been ethnically cleansed; of 12 million Palestinians, 6 million are forbidden to even step foot in their own country, 1.7 million are highly abusively confined to what the Catholic Church has described as the Gaza Concentration Camp (half of them children and of whom 10% are stunted from Israeli blockade), 2.5 million are highly abusively confined without human rights to West Bank Bantustans, 1.6 million are Palestinian Israelis living as Third Class citizens under Apartheid Israel race laws, and only 6.7% (the adults of Palestinian Israelis) are permitted to vote for the government ruling all of Palestine. [4, 5].
There are roughly twice as many Australians as there are Palestinians and you simply have to multiply the above awful statistics by 2 to see what could have happened to Australians if they had been treated in the same way. Indeed in 1944 Australian wartime PM John Curtin vetoed a plan for a Jewish Homeland based in NW Australia. [6].
Some outstanding, anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish writers, leaders and scholars from Australia and around the world, including the US and Israel, have strongly objected to racist Zionism and its crimes against humanity - for alphabetically-organized compendia of such humane, anti-racist views see “Jews Against Racist Zionism” [7] , “Non-Jews Against Racist Zionism” [8], and “Beyond Tribal Loyalties. Personal stories of Jewish peace activist”, edited by Avigail Abarbanel [9].
Australia's most famous Jewish Australian and its first Australian-born Governor General, Sir Isaac Isaacs, was implacable in his opposition to racist Zionism, stating (1946), “The honour of Jews throughout the world demands the renunciation of political Zionism” and, presciently, “The Zionist movement as a whole...now places its own unwarranted interpretation on the Balfour Declaration, and makes demands that are arousing the antagonism of the Moslem world of nearly 400 millions, thereby menacing the safety of our Empire, endangering world peace and imperiling some of the most sacred associations of the Jewish, Christian, and Moslem faiths. Besides their inherent injustice to others these demands would, I believe, seriously and detrimentally affect the general position of Jews throughout the world.” [7]. Yet today Sir Isaac Isaacs, our most famous Jewish Australian, could be egregiously and falsely defamed c/- the ABC, The Conversation and other media as an “anti-Semite” or “self-hating Jew” in the same way that outstanding contemporary anti-racist Jewish Australian writer Antony Loewenstein (author of the book “My Israel Question”) has been falsely defamed in these highly offensive terms. [10].
As a responsible citizen I have previously made a comprehensive submission to the Australian Federal Police (AFP) about racist Zionism and Israeli state terrorism threats to Australia and Humanity (2010). This carefully researched analysis was concerned with 50 areas of racist Zionist, Israeli organized crime and Israeli state terrorism threats to Australians and has been disseminated to Australian law officers, MPs, journalists, academics and other citizens in the public and national interest [11]. One wonders how the AFP would respond if the taxpayer-funded ABC and the taxpayer-funded The Conversation were in a like manner parties to the pursuit, intimidation and false defamation of named AFP officers investigating such matters in the national interest.
I have made the following complaint to the Australian Federal Police ( AFP): “The Australian taxpayer-funded ABC and the universities-funded website The Conversation have variously crossed a line with continued sidelining, censorship and blocking of humane, anti-racist, scholarly views critical of horrendous US-backed Israeli human rights abuses. However, they have variously compounded this betrayal of public decency by continuing to publish utterly false, pro-Zionist defamation of me (and implicitly or actually other such abuse-criticizing, anti-racist humanitarians) as anti-Semites, defamation that when applied to anti-racist Jewish humanitarians constitutes utterly false, unacceptable, ugly, threatening and damaging anti-Jewish anti-Semitism (most of my wider Jewish relatives died in the WW2 Jewish Holocaust; I am inescapably obliged to protest all human rights violations). Repeatedly apprised of this continuing censorship and defamation, the Australian Labor Government, the ABC, and The Conversation and its backing institutions are unmoved, bringing shame on Australia . This in my view is false, egregious and intimidatory criminal defamation and cyberbullying that involves taxpayer-funded organizations (i.e. dishonestly causing risk of loss to the commonwealth) with the only beneficiaries being a nuclear terrorist, war criminal and genocide-based rogue Apartheid state and its fanatical extremist Australian supporters.”
Below are the expert opinions of some outstanding writers and scholars about Zionist attacks on anti-racist Jews and the false defamation of Jewish and non-Jewish critics of horrendous Israeli human rights abuses as “anti-semitic”.
Antony Loewenstein (outstanding anti-racist Jewish Australian writer and author of “My Israel Question”) (2006): If you're Jewish and you criticise Israel , or criticise even a policy of the Israeli Government, you're a self-hating Jew or anti-Semitic or you're unpatriotic or treasonous. I've been [falsely] accused of all those and far worse. If you're non-Jewish, you're anti-Semite or anti-Israel hater.” [12].
Professor John Mearsheimer (a West Point graduate, former air force officer, senior professor of politics at the University of Chicago, and author of an article “The Israel Lobby” with Professor Stephen Walt, the academic dean of the Kennedy School of Politics at Harvard University) (2006): “We couldn't get the piece [“The Israel Lobby”] published, it, therefore, had to be published outside of the United States [in the London Review of Books; he and Stephen Walt were almost immediately attacked by leading American lawyer Alan Dershowitz as being anti-Semitic]… Well, we referred to charge of anti-Semitism in the piece as the 'great silencer'. What happens is that when individuals criticise Israel or organisations criticise Israeli policy, what almost axiomatically happens is those individuals are called anti-Semitic or if they're Jewish, they're labelled 'self-hating Jews'… Well, the fact is, in the American political system, it's very easy for well-organised interest groups to penetrate the American political process and to influence particular policies. This is true if you look at an organisation like the National Rifle Association. Most Americans are in favour of gun control but the NRA, which is a rather small organisation in terms of the size of its membership, is very effective at lobbying Congress and lobbying the Executive Branch to get its way. And the same basic story applies to the Israel lobby.” [12].
Professor Bertell Ollman (outstanding anti-racist Jewish American professor at New York University ) (2004) : “ Anti-Semitism is often understood as an irrational hatred of Jews not for anything they believe or do, but just because of who they are. This is incorrect, because there are reasons. They just happen to be bad ones, either because they are false (like Jews using the blood of gentile children to make matzos for Passover), or exaggerated, or of ancient vintage, or irrelevant, or—if they apply at all (like Jews being rich, etc.)—they apply only to a few people. This is why hating all Jews is not only irrational but unjust, and, as we know, the results have often been murderous. With this history, every Jew but also every humane and fair-minded non-Jew must oppose the rise of anti-Semitism with all their might. That this history, as painful as it is, does not give Jews any right to commit their own crimes should be evident, and it is monstrous whenever Jewish criminals respond to their accusers with charges of "anti-Semitism", even if—as in the case of Zionists—they believe their crimes serve the interests of the Jewish people, and even if they have managed—another miracle?—to get the third edition of Webster's International Dictionary to define "anti-Zionism" as a form of "anti-Semitism" … What is clear is that for Jews whose conscience does not stop at their bloodline, silence, moderation, balance are no longer options, if they ever were. Oppressive regimes, after all, have seldom needed more than passive and qualified support to carry out their "business". Along with the growing number of Jews who openly defend Israel's inhuman behavior, these often well meaning Jews also feed the anti-Semitic stereotype that all Jews are complicit in the crimes of Zionism, and so deserve the hatred that these crimes evoke… An all out struggle against Zionism by Jews, therefore, is also the most effective way to fight against real anti-Semitism. Furthermore, if Zionism is indeed a particularly virulent form of nationalism and, increasingly, of racism and if Israel is acting toward its captive minority in ways that resemble more and more how the Nazis treated their Jews, then we must also say so. For obvious reasons, the Zionists are very sensitive about being compared to the Nazis (not so sensitive that it has restrained them in their actions but enough to bellow "unfair" and to charge "anti-Semitism" when it happens). Yet, the facts on the ground, when not obscured by one or another Zionist rationalization, show that the Zionists are the worst anti-Semites in the world today, oppressing a Semitic people as no nation has done since the Nazis. No, the Zionists are not yet quite as bad as the Nazis, not yet, but isn't the world witnessing a creeping ethnic cleansing against the Palestinians at this very moment? If Zionists (and their supporters) find this comparison unduly insulting and unjust, they have only to stop what they are doing (and supporting), but I fear that the logic of their position will only drive them to committing (and supporting) even greater atrocities in the future, including genocide—another Nazi specialty, than they have up to now. What, if anything, has such Zionism got to do with traditional Jewish values? ” [13].
David Langsam (anti-racist Jewish Australian writer and broadcaster) (2012): “The various pro-Likud lobby groups keep a constant pressure on the [Australian Jewish] community , attacking anyone who dissents from the “: Israel right or wrong” line. It is hard to be a public critic of Israel , even if the criticism is intended to make Israel a safer home for Jews, because of the attack dogs of AIJAC [Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council] and the State Zionist Council will be there, attacking Jews more than they do anyone else. The [anti-racist Jewish] British actor [now an Australian citizen] Miriam Margolyes has been singled out for their attention, along with Australian critics, especially the Australian Jewish Democratic Society, and this writer. They love to hate [outstanding Jewish American MIT linguistics scholar] Professor Noam Chomsky”… In Australia I guess what I have always tried to do as a journalist is to disprove common currency lies … In Australia in the 1980s, I guessed that I was part of a 5-10% minority of Jews prepared to be publicly critical of Israel . (Today, that percentage may have crept up to 10-15%, but I believe there are far more that have become disengaged, partly because Israel does bad things and partly because of the bully-boy tactics of its Australian support groups, AIJAC, the State Zionist Council and the Anti-Defamation Commission.) In London in the late 1980s, I surveyed the British Board of Deputies for The Observer newspaper and found one third of respondents opposed Rabin's 1987 policy of “Break their bones”. In Israel , I am not at all radical – I am mainstream Old Labor, maybe Meretz. I have not changed, Zionism has.” [9].
Conclusions.
It is to the shame of Australia that its Labor Government, half of its universities, and its taxpayer-funded ABC (the equivalent of the UK ABC) permit egregiously false Zionist defamation of anti-racist Jews critical of the ongoing horrendous human rights abuses of Apartheid Israel . Zionist defamation of anti-racist Jews amounts to anti-Jewish anti-Semitism in addition to the horrendous anti-Arab anti-Semitism implicit in its complicity in the ongoing Palestinian Genocide (2 million Palestinian deaths from violence or violently-imposed deprivation since 1936, 90% of Palestine ethnically cleansed, 7 million Palestinian refugees, 6 million of 12 million Palestinians forbidden from even stepping foot in their own country) and the Zionist-backed US War on Muslims ( 12 million Muslim deaths from violence or war-imposed deprivation since 1990). What can decent people do? Decent people should (a) inform everyone they can about the horrendous cost of Zionist-backed anti-Arab anti-Semitism and the corrosive evil of anti-Jewish anti-Semitism applied by racist Zionists against anti-racist Jews, and (b) urge and apply boycotts, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against all people, politicians, parties, corporations, countries and institutions complicit in these racist obscenities. As the great anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Noam Chomsky has stated: “ It is the responsibility of the intellectual to speak the truth and to expose lies” – and indeed of all of us.
