Russians Calling Medvedev a "Traitor" for Not Vetoing UN NATO War On Libya In Larger Context

Article's larger theme is the willingness of humanity to accept five centuries of white world profitable investments in genocide that will end when world economic power shifts from Europeans and their descendant nations overseas to the six sevenths of humanity they plunder. Realizing this, speculative investment bankers have Donald Trump demanding policy changes. Article portrays the immediate before and after of the preposterous US UN NATO destruction of Libya as an omen.
Quoting from the Russia-Insider article by Daniela Pozzati, republished from Italy's Panorama Magazine, Putin-Medvedev Divorce? It's Only a Matter of Time , 1/28/2014 "President Putin is about to dismiss Prime Minister Medvedev over the latter's appeasing attitude towards the West, according to Panorama, Italy's leading political weekly."
"In January of 2014, a Russian documentary film on the Libya crisis openly accused Medvedev of “treason” for his compliant, pro-Western handling of the crisis, and supine acceptance of its outcome.
Among the first Siloviki to point the finger at Medvedev were Evgeny Primakov, former prime minister and head of Russia's foreign secret services, and Vladimir Chamov, Russian ambassador to Libya at the time of the crisis, removed for objecting to the very toppling of Gaddafi.
Retired general Leonid Ivashov said during the Libya documentary: “Unfortunately Russian presidents cannot be prosecuted for treason."
The above quoted, phrases, "appeasing attitude towards the West," and "accused him of 'treason' for his compliant, pro-Western handling of the crisis," refer to Medvedev, when he was President, ordering his Ambassador to the UN not use Russia's veto power to block the No Fly Zone resolution that would permit the destruction of wealthy Libya and the assassination of the protector of its socialist revolution Muammar Gaddafi.
Before we read Medvedev's explanation to world media of why he had Russia facilitate an air and sea attack on Libya, let us look at a peaceful and prosperous Libya, just five weeks before the UN Security Council voted to bomb it, to the first week of February 2011, when the UN Quality of Life Index of 2010 had Libya ranked the 53rd highest nation, ahead of nine European nations (including Russia), a beautiful well kept Arab Socialist country, where everyone owned their own home, enjoyed free and modern health care, free good education up through PhD, a low infant mortality, the cheapest imaginable gasoline for cars everyone had and free from exploitation as even all wage labor was strictly forbidden in the Libyan constitution of a real decentralized democracy in which everyone participated at the local assemblies level where all issues of state concern were discussed before sending delegates to the central assembly of government in Tripoli. Political parties, or gangs of foreign backed profession politicians, were illegal.
[In Gaddafi's Libya was Africa's Most Prosperous Democracy, Zimbabwean Garikai Chengu a fellow at the Du Bois Institute for African Research at Harvard University, writes, "Contrary to popular belief, Libya, which western media described as "Gaddafi's military dictatorship", was in actual fact one of the world's most democratic States," and describes this in detail. "Even the New York Times, which was always highly critical of Colonel Gaddafi, conceded that in Libya, the intention was that “everyone is involved in every decision…Tens of thousands of people take part in local committee meetings to discuss issues and vote on everything from foreign treaties to building schools.”
CNN, NY Times et al. have never reported that Libya, as opposed to desperately poor Egypt and Yemen had been enjoying a higher standard of living than nine European nations including Russia. Rather, they continued emphasizing Western media concocted misnomer 'Arab Spring' and long term condemnation of Gaddafi over his entire four decades of leadership of Libya and funding the movement for African Union as it Chairman.
For almost as long as Cuba's Fidel Castro, Gaddafi had been slandered in the world's monolithic corporate powerful daily news media by innuendo and lies denigrating Gaddafi ever since 1969, when he led the bloodless revolution that replaced a British imposed King with a solid Arab socialist government. Using revenue from the oil that had been previously stolen by Britten and France, Gaddafi brought ht Libya up from the poorest to the most prosperous nation in Africa, and was building the largest Aquifer ever created. A great underground river was bringing water to Benghazi and greening the desert.
Gaddafi had revived Nkruma's African Union and was funding organizations that were fighting against the genocidal machinations of continuing European exploitation of Africa through financing tribal strife as the colonial powers have always done. Gaddafi was blocking US military’s AFRICON penetration in North Africa. Highly dangerous for the US and European establishment, Libya had begun minting part of the 44 billion US$ in gold held in Libya's State Bank, threatening the US dollar as world currency.
Gaddafi, whose position officially was Defender of the Revolution, had made himself a greater target of assassination and vilification than Fidel Castro was for the speculative investors in neocolonial plundering who dominate the planet. In addition, Gaddafi, by his recent apology to African leaders on behalf of Arab nations for past Arab involvement in the African slave trade had infuriated extremists in neighboring Arab nations tightly allied with, and serving the foreign policy of Western powers.
Controlled media ridiculed Gaddafi, when he spoke as Chairman of the African Union in his 2009 address to the UN General Assembly. Gaddafi was the first and only delegate to ever to call for investigation of the UN itself for its role in the horrific loss of lives in Palestine and Korea. He demanded that besides those in Vietnam, Iraq, and that all bombings, invasions and occupations by US NATO forces must be investigated to seek justice and compensation for victims and survivors. Gaddafi bitterly explained the UN Charter's provisions were all negated by the domination of a 'Council of Terror' (Security Council) controlled by the Colonial Powers.
After forty years of building up Gaddafi as a villain and hateful brutal dictator worth assassination even at the cost of a hundred innocent Libyans as in President Reagan's ordered criminal 1988 airstrike, an abysmally uneducated and diseducated American public and its propagandized allied citizens in Europe, were ready to believe whatever infantile lies US criminal media drummed up.
America's CIA fed war establishment media had had little difficulty getting public opinion to accept their pinning the bombing of a Pan Am passenger plane on him. The world satellite audience of a CNN-New York Times led media cartel would never question the absurdity that a successful leader of a revolution that had saved tens of thousand of lives in bringing his once colonially impoverished people to have the best living standard in Africa, could have possibly have had an motive to order the mass murder of a plane load of innocent human beings. Gadaffi, in an unfortunate rush to see lifted the sanctions unjustly put Libyan oil for an unproven accusation, showed an amazing willingness to trust a Western court in an setup arena. The trial, according to the most highly placed legal authorities observing, was a travesty of justice. See [The case remains unsolved, as the man convicted died before his second appeal came up. See US News & World Report 1/2/2009 The Lockerbie Case by Nathan Thrall http://lockerbiecase.blogspot.com]
Though the 2008 Humanitarian U.S.-Libya Comprehensive Claims Settlement Agreement contributed to by American companies in Libya, unequivocally stated that "this agreement is being pursued on a purely humanitarian basis and does not constitute an admission of fault by either party," Western media easily brought most viewers around the world to believe to the contrary that Gaddafi had admitted bombing the plane.
Medvedev would have had to have had access to all this basic information about Libya and the West's murderous attempts on Gaddafi's life. Medvedev also had to have known of General Wesley Clark revelation in 2007, "the Pentagon secretly planned back in 2001 to to take out seven Middle East countries in five years, starting with Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran." Medvedev would have known of the US history of interventions in 'civil wars' created for the purpose economic and political control starting with Korea, Greece, Congo, Vietnam, Laos, Dominica Republic, Panama, Haiti, Grenada, and all the falsities promoted in corporate media to justify those bombings, invasions and occupations as humanitarian. Libya was an obvious rush to 'humanitarian attack.' He would, as a schoolchild, have studied the history of the US invading the newly founded Soviet Russia with two armies and how American corporations had invested and joint-ventured with Nazi Germany to build Hitler's Wehrmacht up to world's number one in five years, supposedly only as a bulwark against the USSR, but obviously to invade the USSR. Once President, Medvedev, like all of us, would have also read in Western periodicals of US military preparations in expectation of eventual war with China and Russia.
So how to explain Russia giving a green light to just one more 'humanitarian intervention blitz? Was there pressure on Medvedev to cut a favorable economic deal with the West from Russia's business community still heavily dominated by the oligarchs who arose to power buying up state enterprises of the self-dissolving Soviet Union? In line with our synopsis that points to understanding private investment finance capital as driving before it everything else, is an article of economic interest published in Russia a week into the bombing.
"Bombing of Libya -- Punishment for Gaddafi for His Attempt to Refuse US Dollar' ,
http://kir-t34.livejournal.com/14869.html - Bortovoi Journal, Russia, 3/26/11
"China had announced minting of golden yuan and the Eastern countries also discussed the possibility of golden standard. Mummar Ghaddafi became the earliest initiator of the idea of refusing dollar and euro and called on Arab and African nations to use a new currency instead, the Persian gold dinar. In 2002 Malaysian prime minister Muhammad together with Mummar Ghaddafi proposed initiative to launch golden dinar. At the beginning this idea was approved by Iraq, Sudan and Bruney, next, Indonesia, United Arabian Emirates and other countries joined to it. They began work on this idea. there were some sessions of Ministers of Finance of these countries and the project about refusing from dollar and euro and using golden dinar began to began to come to life. There was a pilot project where golden coins already minted began to be used in Malaysia, Indonesia and Iran. They were even used in common shops and they are still can be used there as well as common banknote money. Once Muammar Ghaddafi comes to drop the bank system and start trading only in gold, he will trade only with countries that have gold. (China has almost cornered the gold market?) … A chain reaction would be expected because everyone is tired of being a slave for the USA Federal Reserve and its head Mr. Bernanke. Because Bernanke gives money in debt for USA (Federal Reserve Font gives money to central Bank of USA). If Muamman Ghaddafi found time to launch golden coins before the war started, not only muslim countries would follow him. There would be many countries, including maybe even Germany. Everyone in the world who doesn't want to be a slave of Bernanke wants to trade for gold.
Gaddafi suggested establishing a united African continent, with its 200 million people using this single currency. During the past year, the idea was approved by many Arab countries and most African countries.
If the Gaddafi government goes down, it will be interesting to watch whether the new central bank [created by the rebels in March] joins the BIS, whether the nationalized oil industry gets sold off to investors, and whether education and healthcare continue to be free."
Meanwhile, as the destruction, screaming and dying proceeded according to investment necessities the great sharks were circling in. We get it from the horse's mouth:
World Bank's Zoellick: Hopes Bank Will Have Role In Libya by Jeffrey Sparshott DOW JONES NEWSWIRES , 4/14/11
WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- World Bank President Robert Zoellick Thursday said he hopes the institution will have a role rebuilding Libya as it emerges from current unrest.
Four years later, in June, 2015, Pravda published a substantiating article that relates to what was noted in the above article:
Recent articles in China report that China is about to consummate what Gadaffi attempted.
BACKDROP OF EVENTS PRIOR TO FEBRUARY 2011 IN LIBYA:
In Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Bahrain tens of thousands had protested against Western backed dictators, and hundreds had died. In each county all the deaths were attributed to police, security or government armed forces in daily accounts from the very first days of protests. Yet no armed rebellion took place. And of course there was no sudden benevolent American interest in the dying in countries under Western banking oppression. We have seen video shots of cadre of the protestors in action in these US controlled poor countries with repressive governments maintaining calm and keeping their people nonviolent. Even after terrible loss of life they continued to prevent violence against the government.
Two infamous U.S. backed dictators had already been ousted peacefully while many protestors were murdered. In Yemen snipers continued to kill protesters, the huge demonstrations causing worry in Washington. Mass protests in Bahrain were threatening the home of the U.S. Sixth Fleet.
Then in mid February, the empire struck back with clever vengeance as armed insurgents suddenly appeared in prosperous socialist Libya amid a CNN and Al Jezeera media campaign of disinformation, distortion and preposterous lies of large peaceful protests, with Human Rights Watch blowing CNN undocumented false reports up to grand and horrific proportions. As over and over again in the past, never mind that it was the same CNN that since its inception has hailed Americans who killed millions of poor Asians and Latin Americans as wonderful heroes protecting people. As CNN reports fit Western media inculcated prejudices, they are hailed as truth.
The colonial powers had sprung the surprise beginning of what will go down in history as one of the greatest feats of media mind control of childishly gullible, blindly self-indulgent, malleable Western public and a stadus quo obediant diplomatic corp, both empty of any sense of responsibility and therefore dangerous to themselves and the rest of humanity.
Following a well prepared surprise military attack planned by a CIA funded exile group in London led by Libyans long resided near CIA headquarters near Washington, and using past al Qaida and other veterans of US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the citizenry of Benghazi was made to look as rebelling by CIA fed CNN and Al Jazeera 24 hour news coverage.
Coordinated gangs with heavy weapons occupied the centers of cities, then as they were almost immediately being rolled back and out of the towns recaptured by Libyan police, army and militias, liberating them from rebel occupation, US, UK and France pressured the UN Security Council for permission to bomb Libya to protect these gangs (propagandized as innocent peaceful protestors) from defeat. Meanwhile, Bahrain, at the same time, was being invaded by U.S. ally Saudi Arabia, its Armed Forces repressing demonstrators and assisting in their persecution all well covered by media and well documented with filmed reports, but without outcry in Western media.
Washington imported a leader for the rebellion into Libya, one Gen. Khalifa Hifter, who had spent the past 20 years living with no known source of income a couple of miles from the CIA's headquarters in Virginia.[3/26/1996, Libya: Who's Terrorizing Whom by Enver Masud, The Wisdom Fund, 3/26/1996!, and Our Man in Tripoli': US-NATO Sponsored Islamic Terrorists Integrate Libya's Pro-Democracy Global Research, 4
After decades of constantly slandering and vilifying Gaddafi, portraying him to corporate media's captive satellite reach audience as something worse than the devil himself, the Western media cartel had set the stage for a phony popular rebellion against the creator of wealthy Socialist Libya, and hero of Africa's search for unity against the continuing White European exploitation of centuries.
The CIA funded Libyan Exile group in London had called for a "Day of Rage" (conveniently, on the same date as the annual demonstration in remembrance of the ten people killed by security forces back in 2006 during an attempt to burn down the Italian Consulate incited by an Italian minister who wore a T-shirt displaying cartoons of the Islamic prophet Muhammad . A day before the Danish Cartoon anniversary CNN televised a short video showing hundred or so people, mostly young men, jumping up and down shouting "Down with Gaddafi!"
On that called for 'Day of Rage' itself, no large demonstrations reported by BBC and Reuters, which did report deadly attacks on police while heavily armed men sized key buildings. BBC and Reuters and other European news agencies reported that hospitals had put the death toll, including police, at only from eighteen to twenty-six. BBC and Reuters seem to have been not yet on board with the CNN plot, for later that night, they reported that fifty black Libyan soldiers had been brutally executed by the rebels (cell phone videos of gruesome beheadings made appeared on the Internet).
Reuters (but not CNN) reported violent attacks began on Chinese and Korean construction sites around the same time as various early attacks by small mobs on Benghazi traffic department stations, but with no deaths. "On February 17/18,about 200 Libyans in the eastern coastal town of Darnah invaded a South Korean-run construction site and set fire to a dormitory for Korean workers. According to the South Korean Foreign Ministry, the offices of some South Korean companies were looted on February 19. The Ministry said there are currently about 1,400 South Koreans in the country. A construction site run by Huafeng Construction Co., Ltd. from China's Zhejiang Province was looted by a group of armed gangsters Sunday afternoon in the eastern city of Agedabia, and nearly 1,000 Chinese workers there were forced out of the site and became homeless. "Some Chinese workers here said nearly all Chinese companies in the country were "attacked or looted." [Libyan protesters attack S. Korean & Chinese companies , Sri Lanka Guardian, 2/22/2011
On the evening of the 17th, CNN showed a video of small groups of people scattering, running at twilight, cell phone camera jerking around in confusion to the sound of shooting from unidentified sources, while CNN's Nic Robertson cried out over and over again "Gaddafi, is targeting, shooting, killing his own people peacefully demonstrating for democracy."
These staged criminal fabrications CNN telecasts without any evidence would be taken up and amplified by Qatar’s Al Jazeera news agency and blown up to fantastic proportions by Human Rights Watch. At the same time, very quickly, heavily armed insurgent gangs, always described later as 'ordinary citizens who had dropped their office jobs a few days before to fight for freedom,' were efficiently overrunning towns and airports.
Imagine! On Feb. 21 a bare four days after the overseas called for "Day of Rage' protest, U.S. tabloids, a UK counterpart, the Telegraph, and the International Federation for Human Rights, reported Libya's second city along with Sirte, Tobruk, Misrata, Khoms, Tarhounah, Zenten, Al-Zawiya and Zouara had all been taken by protesters - "protesters?" Benghazi airport was taken over a few days earlier on the 19th. For the next nine weeks the world would see on TV, tough hombre looking "freedom fighters' in their fleets of heavy weaponry mounted pickup trucks looking nothing at all like protesters, CNN claiming them to have be civilians from various walks of life up to a few days before, who had joined the 'rebellion'.
CIA compliant Human Rights Watch would quote 'rebel witnesses' and give an 'apparent' figure of thousands of civilians killed by government forces, only to reduce that number a few years later. But throughout 2011, HRW's still published amazingly brazen baldfaced lies, with no attempt at documentation. In HRW's film, 'The Death of a Dictator,' which would have been better titled 'HRW Role in the Murder of Libya,' "protests against the rule of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi broke out in Libya in February 2011, the government’s security forces responded by opening fire on the protesters." Amnesty International was involved similarly, denouncing the murdering of civilians, after justified international condemnation by preaching entirely false reports. By contrast, top German news agency Reuters, in its 'Nine Month Time Line' coverage of the fighting in Libya in 2011, contains not one single mention of any Libyan government malfeasance, and its reporters had slipped into Benghazi even before NATO bombing began and found it a locked down patrolled city with a cowed citizenry. Neither CNN, nor its media partner in crime, Qatar's Al Jazeera, ever televised during the months it took to destroy Libya, one single corroborating video or photo of a substantial amount of protestors demonstrating, peaceful or otherwise, let alone of a demonstration of civilians being fired upon.
Almost at the same time as first reports of violence, as if on cue, had come charges carried in Western media from Libyan exiles in various countries accussing Gaddafi of hiring mercenaries. After investigation, it proved to be to the contrary. The plotters had had little difficulty in recruiting from the significant population of veteran terrorists in Eastern Libya and nearby Arab nations, who had fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. [see documentation further down in this article].
A mere nine days after the first disturbance in Libya, UN Security Council Resolution 1970, proposed by US, UK, France and Germany, was passed, imposing sanctions on Gaddafi and his family. The resolution referred to Libya's defending the nation from armed attack in slanderous wording calling for action by International Criminal Court (ICC). Amazingly, this rush to both condemn and punish the leadership of a permanent member of the United Nations was based solely on CNN and Aljazeera reports without UN verification, with some members of the council referring to the defection of the Libyan Ambassador and his deputy who quickly testified against their government in resigning.
At the ten day mark, February 28 - EU governments approved a package of sanctions against Gaddafi and his closest advisers including an arms embargo and bans on travel to the bloc.
March 5- only 18 days after the first disturbance - The National Council met in Benghazi and declares itself the sole representative for LibyaMarch 10 - a few days later, France recognized the Libyan National Council as the "legitimate representative of Libya's people." Libya suspended diplomatic relations with France the next day.
March 16- at the one month mark- Forces loyal to Gaddafi are near rebel-held Benghazi, and Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam tells France-based TV channel Euronews: "Everything will be over in 48 hours."
- and the following day March 17, exactly one month after first violence - The U.N. Security Council votes to authorize a no-fly zone over Libya and "all necessary measures" - (code for military action) -- to protect civilians against Gaddafi's army.
March 19 - The first air strikes halt the advance of Gaddafi's forces on Benghazi and target Libya's air defense infrastructure.
Gaddafi's son, Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, denied wrongdoing by government forces." He said that the largest demonstration the opposition had made was of a few thousand people in Bengazi, and that the opposition was made up of terrorists who publicly executed soldiers of the Libyan army on "dozens of videos" on the Internet. He said that "Libya does not use mercenaries, period", and that "half of Libya's population are blacks." "We are not killing our fellow citizens. We are not dropping bombs on them. We and our loyal army have shown unprecedented tolerance towards our own people, who are already armed with tanks and heavy artillery. But even despite that we do not touch innocent civilians. Armed bandits, who are sitting in the tanks are eager to divide the country into two parts."
[ "World To See 'Surprises' In Libya Soon, Says Gaddafi's Son". Bernama, 5 March 2011.]
It had taken the colonial powers only one month from the first day of violence in Benghazi to have its UN tool Security Council order the bombing of prosperous Libya out of existence and already weeks before the US had many billions of dollars worth of Libyan overseas assets sized and sanctions put into effect, all based on CNN unsubstantiated charges.
The colonial power monolithic media of the West made this swift war upon Libya possible. These media outlets that made the quick destruction of Libya possible had also make acceptable and appropriate the obliteration a three million Koreans, and almost every town in the Korean peninsula, the deaths of many more millions in Vietnam, where the US dropped more than twice the tonnage of bombs dropped in all of WWII and the US invasion of Iraq and the extermination of a million and half of its citizens.
It would be a great stretch of imagination to think that Russian President Medvedev could have been fooled. Basic contradictions in what was being reported by CNN, promoted even more simple mindedly by the rest of Western media and in and obviously desperate speech by a US president attempting to justify US bombing in a UN member nation and former colony of England, France and Italy (who were to bomb it as well). Besides information from state agencies, Medvedev would have been aware that even Pravda.RU had been covering events with critical commentary.
On March 22, 2011, President Mevedev spoke to reporters in his home in suburban Gorki, explaining why he ordered Russia’s UN Ambassador not use Russia's veto power to the block the Security Council's 'No Fly Zone,' (which gave the colonial powers carte blanche to destroy Libya under the now familiar charge that a government was "killing its own people" with with only CNN and Qatar's Al Jazeera uncorroborated reports as the basis for action). British Tornadoes were engaged in ground attacks and Tomahawk missiles were being fired from British submarines as Libyan government armed forces and militias heading into Misurata after having liberated Ajdabiya, Zawiyah, Ras Lanuf and parts of Brega from the US NATO UN supported terrorist army. (Most certainly were not just enforcing the UN’s requested ‘No Fly Zone,' on Lybia's small air force).
Russian Television reported:.
Russia did not veto in UN in order to protect Libyan civilians - Medvedev RT, March 22, 2011
I do not think this resolution is wrong,” Medvedev told reporters in his suburban residence in Gorki on Monday. “The Foreign Ministry fulfilled my instructions.”
“All that is going on in Libya is connected with outrageous behavior of Libya’s authorities and the crimes that were completely against their own people. We must not forget about it. Everything else is simply a consequence.”
Medvedev's publicly announced assessment of the situation in Libya fully agreed with that of Western conglomerate media and President Obama, though Obama in explaining his decision to bomb Libya Obama included, pure fabrications among other desperate rationale, the statement to Western reporters of a women who claimed she gang raped by Libyan soldiers as proof of monstrous Libyan soldiers. Remember we are taking about a socialist government (constantly referred to in Western media as the 'Gadaffi regime') the UN Quality of Life Index ranked not only far and away the highest in Africa, but also higher than nine European nations including Russia. Remember we are talking about a Gadaffi, who was Chairman of the African Union, characterized as civilization's number one enemy in monopolized media and by government officials owned by a financial element in the centers of power in the neocolonializing nations of the West, for centuries referred to awesomely as 'The Colonial Powers' .
And what was the reaction back home in Medvedev's former Soviet Socialist Russia?
It must have be embarrassing for Russians to hear Medvedev parroting an obvious colonial powers lie to justify Russia's allowing the US, UK, French and Canadian air and sea pulverizing attack on the government and militia forces of a tiny but wealthy and singularly independent Africa country. Russia had approved an impossible to describe in sufficient opprobrium neocolonial crime against humanity in a little but wealthy and obstreperously independent nation (one of a very few left in the world) by the combined military, economic and political power of the empires of the USA, Britain and France plus that of the rest of NATO nations and that of Arab and other nations whose governments were allied with an Anglo-American world dictatorship, hardly friendly toward Russia to put it mildly. Medvedev had made Russia an accomplice before and after the fact to the above described crime, prosecutable one day under the Nuremberg Principles of International Law awaiting future implementation by a future reconstituted United Nations no longer under the control of nations whose majority of citizens are of European descent. Add to this a mortifying recollection that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics had for a half century been the protector African movements for independence from Western colonialism once Soviet Russia had recovered from a similar invasion attack by fourteen armies of twelve capitalist countries led by those of the USA and Great Britain fostering, supporting and participating in a horrifically deadly civil war in Russia.
The Reader is invited to compare the more logical sounding explanations of events in Libya beginning mid February, 2011 by Seif Gaddafi during a Russian Television interview without the now proven lies regarding Gaddafi repeated by Russia's then president Medvedev, who helped US-NATO-UN destroy prosperous Socialist Libya. Seif Gaddafi had made a direct appeal to Russia at the end of the below quoted Russian Television interview saying, (diplomatically, given Medvedev's solidarity with Libya's destroyers) "It was time for Russia to step in to play a positive role in the escalating conflict and show that it is a superpower."
Here is Seif Gaddafi, speaking during a Russian Television interview, which RT titled US looks on Libya as McDonald’s – Gaddafi’s son
“Many countries, Iran and North Korea are among them, told us it was our mistake to give up, to have stopped developing long-range missiles and to become friendly with the West. Our example means one should never trust the West and should always be on alert – for them it is fine to change their mind overnight and start bombing Libya,”
“One of our biggest mistakes was that we delayed buying new weapons, especially from Russia, and delayed building a strong army. We thought Europeans were our friends; our mistake was to be tolerant with our enemies”. Saif Gaddafi confessed naiveté about the intentions of the European investor colonizers of the world his father had fought tooth and nail in Africa and beyond for four decades.
Regarding his being charged by the International Criminal Court,“They do not accuse me of policy, they accuse me of killing people, and everybody knows it. For me to be responsible for killing people was a joke. This would have happened anywhere in the world if people in the street moved towards a military site trying to steal ammunition or arms. Of course the military would prevent them!” stated Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.
The son of the Libyan leader denied either he or his father had ordered the killing of protesters.
“No, nobody ordered to kill them, the guards just fired, that’s it. And they do not need permission to do that.”
“It’s a fake court. Under the table they are trying to negotiate with us a deal. They say if you accept this deal, we will take care of the court. What does that mean? It means this court is controlled by those countries which are attacking us every day!
“The country is a like a piece of cake for them – it is rich, it has gas, oil and money, so they must kill my father to get the cake. What they don’t understand is that the fighting will not stop if my father goes. Libyans will continue fighting until one day the country will be back to the Libyans,”concluded Saif al-Islam Gaddafi.
“We told them ‘You want elections? OK – let’s do elections. We will bring observers from Russia, from America, from the African Union, from the European Union, from the United Nations to supervise the elections. And if we win – you should accept the results, if we lose – congratulations.’ They answered ‘no.’," Saif al-Islam Gaddafi went on. "Our goal is to march to Tripoli. We have to march to Tripoli and occupy Tripoli. By force. So, you want to fight? OK, we will fight. And you will lose. And soon, because you have no chance. You have 40 ships in front of our coast, you have hundreds of airplanes, you have 17 satellites from America and France, you have everything, but you are losing every day. Why? Because the people are not with you."
“The Libyans are united not just around my father as a leader but they are united around other moral values. They are fighting for their country, for their people. They know that NATO is here and is bombing not because they want to help us, or because it is so nice to us or because it is so generous towards the Libyan people, but because they have their own interest. And the rebels are with NATO not because they are pro-democracy or fighting for freedom. It has nothing to do with this. They have their own interests. They want to share the cake – they want to share this country,”
The son of the Libyan leader acknowledged that the West won the media war at the outset because it planned to say early on that Gaddafi was in Venezuela and that the rebels were already occupying Tripoli and the regime was gone.
“They seeded big chaos in the whole country. We are still now suffering from that chaos. But now the Libyans are winning. The Security Council issued its resolution against Libya because of fake media reports saying that the Libyan air force is bombing civilian districts in Tripoli and killing – but go there and show me any evidence of such killings. We told everyone – please, send a fact-finding mission to Libya to find out what’s happened. They said no. We are going to bomb you. Nobody will give up and raise a white flag."

A week into the US air and naval blitz, eminent writers had written exposes:
Libya Rebels: Gaddafi Could be Right About al-Qaeda -
Two documents suggest northeast Libya, centre of rebellion, is an al-Qaeda hotspot. By Alexander Cockburn, First Post , 3/24/11
" a secret cable to the State Department from the US embassy in Tripoli in 2008, part of the WikiLeaks trove, entitled "Extremism in Eastern Libya", which revealed that this area is rife with anti-American, pro-jihad sentiment. ... According to the 2008 cable, the most troubling aspect ... is the pride that many eastern Libyans, particularly those in and around Dernah, appear to take in the role their native sons have played in the insurgency in Iraq " [and the] ability of radical imams to propagate messages urging support for and participation in jihad. ... The second document, or rather set of documents, are the so-called Sinjar Records, captured al-Qaeda documents that fell into American hands in 2007. They were duly analyzed by the Combating Terrorism Center at the US Military Academy at West Point. Al-Qaeda is a bureaucratic outfit and the records contain precise details on personnel, including those who came to Iraq to fight. ... American and coalition forces ... when necessary, commit suicide.
The West Point analysts' statistical study of the al-Qaeda personnel records concludes that one country provided "far more" foreign fighters in per capita terms than any other: namely, Libya. ... The records show that the "vast majority of Libyan fighters that included their home town in the Sinjar Records resided in the country's northeast". Benghazi provided many volunteers. So did Dernah, a town about 200 kms east of Benghazi, in which an Islamic emirate was declared when the rebellion against Gaddafi started.
Five days into the US NATO bombing and only five weeks after the first small amount of violence began in Benghazi, another well read historian published two long well documented studies titled :The CIA’s Libya Rebels: 2007 West Point Study Shows Benghazi-Darnah-Tobruk Area was a World Leader in Al Qaeda Suicide Bomber Recruitment, By Webster G. Tarpley, Ph.D., March 24, 2011, Information Clearing House
"Al Qaeda is not a centralized organization, but rather a gaggle or congeries of fanatics, dupes, psychotics, misfits, double agents, provocateurs, mercenaries, and other elements. As noted, Al Qaeda was founded by the United States and the British during the struggle against the Soviets in Afghanistan. Many of its leaders, such as the reputed second-in-command Ayman Zawahiri and the current rising star Anwar Awlaki, are evidently double agents of MI-6 and/or the CIA. The basic belief structure of Al Qaeda is that all existing Arab and Moslem governments are illegitimate and should be destroyed, because they do not represent the caliphate which Al Qaeda asserts is described by the Koran. This means that the Al Qaeda ideology offers a ready and easy way for the Anglo-American secret intelligence agencies to attack and destabilize existing Arab and Muslim governments as part of the ceaseless need of imperialism and colonialism to loot and attack the developing nations. This is precisely what is happening in Libya today."

Libyan Rebel Commander Admits his Fighters Have Al-Qaeda Links - By Praveen Swami, Nick Squires and Duncan Gardham, Information Clearing House The Telegraph 3/26/11 Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi's regime. \In an interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr al-Hasidi admitted that he had recruited "around 25" men from the Derna area in eastern Libya to fight against coalition troops in Iraq. Some of them, he said, are "today are on the front lines in Adjabiya".

Libyan, Once a Detainee Is Now a US Ally of Sorts
By ROD NORDLAND and SCOTT SHANE NY Times, 4/24/11
"DARNAH, Libya -- For more than five years, Abu Sufian Ibrahim Ahmed Hamuda bin Qumu was a prisoner at the Guantánamo Bay prison, judged "a probable member of Al Qaeda" by the analysts there based on a huge trove of secret documents leaked last year to the anti-secrecy organization WikiLeaks and made available to The New York Times. Today, Mr. Qumu, 51, is a notable figure in the Libyan rebels' fight to oust Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi, reportedly a leader of a ragtag band of fighters known as the Darnah Brigade. The former enemy and prisoner of the United States is now an ally of sorts, a remarkable turnabout resulting from shifting American policies rather than any obvious change in Mr. Qumu."
Six weeks into the devastating US Nato blistering air attack, the most reputable anti-imperialist Internet site publisher in the West, Prof. Michel Chossudovsky of Mcgill University, Montreal, Canada authored
" Our Man in Tripoli": US-NATO Sponsored Islamic Terrorists Integrate Libya's Pro-Democracy Opposition by Michel Chossudovsky, GlobalResearch, 4/3/11: "Rarely acknowledged by the Western media, the Libya Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG -- Al-Jamaa al-Islamiyyah al-Muqatilah bi Libya), is an integral part of the Libyan Opposition. The LIGF, which is aligned with al-Qaeda, is in the frontline of the armed insurrection."
Chossudovsky, an Emeritus Professor of Economics at Ottawa University, and director of Montreal's Centre for Research on Globalization, notes, "the paramilitary LIFG was founded in Afghanistan by veteran Libyan Mujahedeens of the Soviet-Afghan war". There are contradictory reports as to whether the LIFG is part of Al Qaeda or is acting as an independent jihadist entity. One report suggests that in 2007 the LIFG became "a subsidiary of al Qaeda, later assuming the name of Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).'"
During its lifetime, "The LIFG was supported not only by the CIA and The British Secret Intelligence Service but also by factions within Libya's intelligence agency, led by former intelligence head and Foreign Minister Moussa Koussa, who defected to the United Kingdom."
Two months into the US NATO UN war against Libya President Medvedev made the headlines as a spokesperson for the colonial powers: Fresh NATO strikes rock Libyan capital, hours after Medvedev tells reporters from the G8 summit in France "Gaddafi should leave" Al Jazeera, 5/28/ 2011:
The series of overnight attacks and clashes came just hours after Russian president Dmitry Medvedev agreed to mediate Gaddafi's exit, saying the Libyan leader had "forfeited legitimacy" to rule. Medvedev told reporters from the G8 summit in France on Friday, "Gaddafi should leave'. 'If Gaddafi makes this decision, which will be beneficial for the country and the people of Libya, then it will be possible to discuss the form of his departure, what country may accept him and on what terms, and what he may keep and what he must lose."
The article by Aljazeera ended with: "Analysts have also suggested that Russia's new-found willingness to mediate in Libya could be a part of its hope to gain some level of influence in the region in the post-uprising Arab world. Medvedev could also be eyeing Libya's oil and gas markets, analysts have said, and preparing for the prospect that the lucrative Libyan market will fall into full opposition control."
But meanwhile, Russia's most influential media Pravda had been publishing (even on Facebook) comprehensive descriptions of US NATO UN genocidal crimes against humanity in Libya regularly, and less than two weeks after Medvedev's latest incriminating himself as a spokesperson for US NATO UN crimes, Pravda published: PRAVDA Opinion The law case of the century: Indictment against NATO military and political leaders 06.11.2011."Why did NATO not convene the Military Staff Committee of the UNSC? Under the UN Charter, Chapter VII, Article 46: "Plans for the application of armed force shall be made by the Security Council with the assistance of the Military Staff Committee". Such committee was never convened. This is a violation of the UN Charter rendering Resolutions 1970 and 1973 (2011) void; There is also evidence that such Resolutions were passed on the evidence from a false flag event. The supposed crimes committed by the Libyan authorities have been hotly contested and must be investigated;
3.2 Intervention in domestic affairs of a sovereign state: UNSC Resolution 2131 (XX) of 21 December 1965, containing the Declaration on the Inadmissibility of Intervention in the Domestic Affairs of States was backed up by Resolutions 31/91 of 14 December 1976, 32/153 of 19 December 1977, 33/74 of 15 December 1978, 34/101 of 14 December 1979 and 35/159 of 12 December 1980 on non-interference in the internal affairs of States.
3.3 Bombardment of undefended buildings and structures: Article 3 of the Statute of The Hague International Penal Court which states clearly that one criterion for indictment for war crimes is: 'Attack or bombardment, by whatever means, against undefended cities, towns, villages, buildings or houses'. Another clause of the same Article 3 could also be invoked: "Massive destruction of cities, towns or villages or destruction not justified by military necessity".
The attack on Libya's water supply network on Friday July 22 and the attack on the factory making pipes for the supply system on Saturday July 23 in al-Brega were not covered under 'military necessity' in which case, under Article 3, this was an act of wanton destruction of civilian structures with military hardware. This renders NATO liable for trial by its own court, the ICC at The Hague; Then
Magnificently on July 1st Began Incredibly Massive Demonstrations!
Your author shall never forget an overjoyed Saif Gaddafi elated, smiling happily, trilled, relieved, convinced that the nightmare was over because a million, or more Libyans in a total population of little more than six, were wildly demonstrating with green flags for Gaddafi and their Jamahiriva or green book government on the outskirts of Tripoli even as NATO warplanes bombed within earshot. His elation was contagious, and for a moment or two I too thought yes, they would have to stop bombing for this overwhelming evidence that it was wrong.
Then I remembered the incredible seeming omniscient ability of Western media to blackout news. Of course, with world opinion always in it craw, simply never reported these massive demonstrations for Gaddafi and against the US NATO UN sponsored continuous bombing then already at this juncture three and half months long. Non-Western media covering the demonstrations did note that the bombings of Tripoli "had declined since the rise of the marches in Tripoli with a shift to increased bombing of other parts of Libya."

and One Third of Libya Turns Out to Support Qaddafi in World's … July 2,2011
Russian President Medvedev apparently never felt he had to explain neither the overwhelmingly huge demonstrations by Libyans he had made himself an accessory to the destruction of their country, nor the conscious bitten statements of the leader of Italy, Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, who had been a friend of Gaddafi till Italy became one of the participating countries of a NATO bent on eliminating revolutionary leader Gaddafi and plundering the Libya had made wealthy.
At a party meeting in Rome, three months after Medvedev announced that Gaddafi to resign and leave, and three weeks before Gaddafi got a bayonete up his anus, Berlusconi confessed, "This has nothing to do with a popular uprising. The Libyan people love Gaddafi, as I was able to see when I went to Libya. Powerful people decided to give life to a new era by trying to oust Gaddafi." When reporters asked Berlusconi why he had kept silent, "What choice did I have considering America’s pressure, President Georgio Napolitano’s stance, and the Parliament’s decision?"
Berlusconi says Libyans love Qaddafi: as Italians protest against NATO, 9/10/2011,Voltaire Network.
Most of what the reader has read up to here was published by your author three months after that 'Day of Rage' was called for from a Libyan exile organization, in London funded, if not as well founded, by the CIA: 'There Was No Libyan Peaceful Protest Just Murderous Gangs and Nic Robertson' By Jay Janson, 16 June, 2011, Countercurrents.org
Let no one dream that President Medvedev was a fool and not a knave in assisting the colonial power destruction of Libya and massive theft of its financial assets. More importantly, Putin in letting it be known that he has distanced himself from Medvedev, certainly opens a window on a deeper understanding of the political power distribution in Russia, especially for anyone who had accepted the Western press analysis that Putin had only switched chairs with Medvedev while still totally running the show.
That said, one reflects that though Putin, as prime minister, did forcefully denounce NATO for having gone far beyond enforcing the UN mandated no fly zone and has never allowed himself to be an actual spokesperson for Western Imperialism as Medvedev did in the case of Gaddafi and Libya, since 2012, Putin as president and his Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, have maintained a diplomatic collaborative silence regarding the nearly half-million Syrians slaughtered for the genocidal US led effort to remove Assad exactly as Gaddafi was 'removed.’ Even when Prime Minister Putin sternly and rightly asked, "Who Gave NATO the Right to Kill Gaddafi?" he also saw fit to modestly agree with Western media's unsubstantiated and slanderous charges against Gaddafi, adding, "though he (Gaddafi) is not the best person in the world, made many mistakes and did many bad things."
Putin, before the outbreak of Western enmity in sanctions and menacing military moves in the Ukraine, had gone along with the West’s claims of a real civil war in Syria, mostly remaining relatively quiet about the US illegally funding the ‘civil war,’ and accepting as factual, the West’s charge that President Assad did indeed order troops to fire on civilians, which was exactly what Gaddafi had been accused of. Though recently, Putin has finally been exposing Turkey's long ago known critical role in putting across and sustaining the media fiction of a serious Syrian civil war, Putin, at the same time, diplomatically, goes easy on the US, not publicizing that the US has from the beginning openly funded and secretly piloted a war against the Syrian government. US and Arab allies funding of ISIS was exposed years ago even in British tabloids, but Putin has never demanded the application of international law against US criminal activity.
Putin, presently seen by the informed, a hero for his confronting the West's violent eastward expansion still observes the collaborative diplomacy that is practiced world wide by diplomates and government officials (even in nations under us attack) politely not identifying the USA as the arrogantly proud perpetrator of uncountable profitable genocidal crimes against humanity, openly planning, preparing and promoting an even a greater genocidal war. It is galling to revolutionary Americans like your author to see Lavrov broadly smiling in affable demeanor embracing John Kerry, who represents death and destruction throughout the Middle East and anti Russian sanctions, himself a murderer of a unarmed Vietnamese defending his country.
There is some obvious diplomatic going along with the criminal media promoted myth that the USA is desperately fighting Islamic terror, a terror that is incongruously at the same time always destroying America’s designated enemies. Besides Syria and Iraq, Yemen, and Lebanon, are also facing the same colonial power created and well funded gang armies of Islamic terrorists that Afghanistan was made to face.
In 1979, Presidential Adviser (and David Rockefeller’s top confidant) Zbigniew Brzezinsky had President Carter authorize the first CIA use of Afghan Islamic terror against the very popular new women liberating socialist government in Kabul. Next came the criminal inviting of overseas Muslim extremists, mostly Arab Wahabi, into an Afghanistan America did not yet own, the funding of Osama bin Laden and founding of Al Qaida. Thirdly, the arming and funding of Sunni terror against the Iran backed Shiite majority militias in Iraq, which were frighting the US occupation. Fourthly, recruiting, funding, arming, organizing and supervising murdering terrorist veterans of US wars in Afghanistan and Iraq to overthrow the leaders and governments of Libya and Syria. Lastly, the US has openly supported Islamic and ethnic terrorists in China, Iran, Russia, Yemen and Lebanon, and many believe the CIA’s murderous criminal record leaves little doubt that it has been involved in at least terrorist operations, some false flag, in a lot of other countries including in Europe and the US itself.
Russia, as China, has made no noise about the West's fifteen year murderous occupation of poor Afghanistan and both adhere to a worldwide unwritten etiquette of diplomatic politeness not to identify the United States with its genocide(s) in Korea, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia and Iraq, not ever reminding the constantly targeted Third World that the US has either invaded or overthrown the government of every nation in Latin America.
No leader anywhere ever seems to call for prosecution of US invasions under the Nuremberg Principles. (The single exception this author could find is Gaddafi's 2009 UN General Assembly address.) The finest journalist, top intellectuals and historians stick to reporting and chronicling events of human horror as if they were simply RealPolitik as unchallengeable as the weather, never including the whole truth that they are obvious prosecutable genocidal crimes against humanity. In reporting domestic horror on a city street, usually the first issue is to clarify whether what happened was a crime or not, while in world coverage journalism, the word ‘crime’ amazingly is never employed. Journalists report mass murderous world events as being the result of terrible or mistaken foreign policy, rarely if ever citing a need for reparations, indemnity, compensation for surviving victims.
Though the super economic power to sanction protects the US from lawsuits, speaking the truth, if not a moral duty, is more compassionate than diplomatic and cowardly silence. What is today impossible can become possible, even probable or inevitable tomorrow or the day after, when interest in prosecution is aroused. Are we not brought up to honestly speak the truth and is speaking the truth not considered its own reward?
What will happen when the crimes of the colonial-neocolonial powers, the US and the nations of mostly white population, are a topic of conversation on street corners, in homes, cafes, workplaces and schools all around our rapidly changing world?
Greek philosopher Plato wisely advised, "Justice in the life of nations is possible only if it exists in the hearts and souls of their citizens.”
Mevedev, or better said, Russia and China, not using veto power to prevent a UN authorized capitalist powers reconquest of Libya is only an extreme example of a general 'might makes right' acquiescence to the colonial-neoclonial power profitable genocide that has gone on for centuries, and will most probably continue to go on until world economic power shifts from Europeans and their descendant nations overseas, to the more than six sevenths of humanity they plunder. If estimates of world economic power shifting to the East and South in about twenty-five years are correct, effects might become apparent rather soon.
The current media managed US election process seems a playing out in public of indecision within the rich one tenth of one percent who rule the world, indecision about whether to switch to less profitable investing in their home base, America and Europe, or to continue wildly enriching themselves heavily investing in the much higher profit rendering low wage economies of the rest of the world, thereby accelerating forward the arrival of the time when those economies of the plundered six-seventh of humanity will overtake and demand equity from the nations of the plundering First World. Billionaire Republican candidate Donald Trump seems to have been designated to present a demand that government force the wealth controlling deep-pockets to invest in an America suffering from neglect.
In Africa, Asia, Latin America, and in the inner cities of the US and Europe, it can be expected that leaders espousing self-development in economic freedom from White imperialism will arise and pick up from where Che Guevara, Gaddafi, Thomas Sankara, Amilcar Cabral, Hugo Chavez, Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, and Martin Luther King had gotten us to when they were murdered.
With realization that hugely populated China will inevitably replace America as the world’s most influential society, Donald Trump seems to have been allowed to also suggest that it be better for the US to stop investing in the profitable genocidal and illegal use of its Armed Forces, CIA, sanctions, State Department and media, and even perhaps pay up now for some of the death and destruction before the inevitable lawsuits for compensation, indemnity and reparations are adjudicated in a revamped International Court of Justice of a reconstituted United Nations no longer under Western control.
Trump, with mainstream media ridiculing him and making a blatant over the top show of frightened opposition, as if the owners of criminal media were terribly against him, has been permitted to say among other things that the five trillion dollars spent in destroying the Middle East would have been better spent in America, that NATO is obsolete, that the United States should be friends with America's long designated enemies China and Russia, and that he will get along well with Putin and Xi Jinping.
Whew! How long before a US president will say that the wars on Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia were not heroic after all, as a start of telling the genocidal truth of all the rest of US foreign policy that former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark in his book,The Fire This Time - US War Crimes in the Gulf, calls, "the greatest crime against humanity since WWII."
Attorney Clark, our most distinguished defector from the bloody US establishment, lends legal support to philosopher Plato words with, "A great many people in this country are worried about law-and-order. And a great many people are worried about justice. But one thing is certain; you cannot have either until you have both."
