INTRODUCTION: I am that Dolphin Murdered in the Gulf of Mexico.
GULF of MEXICO OIL SPILL in 2010: In 2010 my family & I suffered from the Oil spill & toxic dispersants in the Gulf of Mexico. In 2010 many Dolphins including baby dolphins died from breathing oil into their lungs; Others went blind from burns to their eyes due to the toxic dispersants; Many dolphins starved due to the lack of fish in large dead zones in the Gulf of Mexico; & Others died from the oxygen depleted waters. (1)
*MURDERED & TORTURED DOLPHINS in 2012: Here in 2012 my Dolphin family & I are being murdered by Humans. We are being killed by: “Bullet wounds” & other means; & We are being mutilated & tortured: Our “Fins” are being hacked off; Our “Jaws” are being cut off; My best friend had a “Screwdriver” impaled into his head; Another dolphin’s “Tail” was cut off, but he lived; Others are being found washed up on the beaches with “missing fins” & other cuts to their bodies. (2)
*ANGRY FISHERMAN: Dolphins are a docile, friendly & curious species. But, there are some “Angry fishermen who are upset about bait-stealing dolphins”. On the other hand, “The majority of fishermen say that while dolphins can be annoying, they wouldn't harm the creatures.” (3)
*MURDER Definition: My family, friends & baby Dolphins are being murdered in the Gulf of Mexico. Murder is the “Premeditated killing” of another human being. (4) Murder is the “Deliberate and premeditated killing of another motivated by ill will”. (5)
*HUMAN ILL-WILL towards DOLPHINS: It is sad that some Humans can not peacefully co-exist with Dolphins, but would rather kill, torture & mutilate them. What is the mind-set of humans who kill dolphins? What anger lies in the hearts of dolphin killers?
VIOLENCE BEGETS VIOLENCE & The HUMAN BREAKING POINT:
#1. Since Violence begets violence, the deeper question is: What violence was inflicted upon these humans that motivates them to kill Dolphins? #2. Or as Regush warns us: We all have a “Breaking Point”& a “Potential for Violence” including: “The potential of people everywhere on this planet to break down under severe stress” – at which time “Everyone is capable of causing harm or murder”. (6) So another fundamental question is: What stress are these humans experiencing in their lives – that are driving them to become dolphin killers? Or What stress are these humans experiencing in their lives -- that could drive them to become human killers?
Thank you. Respectfully, Mary Hamer, M.D. U.S.A.
