Project Impossible: Excavating Myths

By I.K.Shukla

That two graves, and a Muslim settlement, of pre-Babar provenance, have been unearthed in Ayodhya proves quite a few, but unintended, points. However, it wil leave the saffronazis unfazed. When all else fails, the neo-Hindu hordes
seek sanctuary in the fen called faith.

They could find nothing there, and what they did would not deter them from further adventures on the dunghill of their making.

What they sought to establish they signally succeeded in doing.

One, the right to dig the whole of India in search of temples lost centuries ago supposedly to the depredations of Mughals. Two, they made mincemeat of the Constitution in the matter that explicitly provided for status quo in respect of monuments and historical sites. Three, instead of punishing the Babri demolition squad of criminals, the courts (as partisans) joined the
thugs in diverting people to a non-issue. Thus the merry go round called law and order became a major casualty among several other democratic institutions that give a state the semblance of viability and validity. Four, the excavation, a unique horror, became accepted as legit and a norm. Five, henceforward a claim can be pressed to dig for something that
everybody knows doesn't exist: a myth, a legend, a fiction. Six, national treasure can be looted by the rulers under the cover of such diversionary games uninterrupted and with impunity. And, its corollary, more and bigger lies bring more and bigger poll wins. That is why mid-term Parliamentary polls are being mooted.

After all, the HinduTaliban have croaked "mandir wahin banayenge" (there alone will we build the temple). This anthem will not be amended or abandoned. Why? Because appeasement of their mayhem and mendacity, long and
violative of the Constituion, has only encouraged their persistence in criminality which has yielded bounty at the hustings.

Are they, the faux Hindus, ashamed or embarrassed? No, because that would kick them out of business. Why would they commit suicide? And, true to their creed, they are proud to be "Hindu", but ashamed to be human or Indian. Would they stop wallowing in myths? No, because they have built up their edifice on the landfill of lies. Take just a few:

Savarkar was never brave (Veer), nor a patriot (collaborator and Quisling, a chronic beggar of mercy, and an inveterate coward, monkey wrench in our freedom struggle), but he has been made into an icon, of whom the rest of India and all of Indian history would be ashamed but the saffros will be ever proud because he superseded Jinnah as the originator of two-nation theory.

Or, take up any of their several fairy tales at random, and you will find their fanatical devotion to it in the inverse proportion of its absurdity.

They are inventing and fabricating an ersatz history as if it is a cottage industry, as if it can be bent to their will retroactively. Their confusion between mythology and history is ocean deep. Therefore they will go on worshipping myth as history, legend as logic. Yes, repeat, legend as logic.

But it is time that they be reined in, blackenned, defanged and caged, or they will turn India itself into a myth as they shred a nation-state , as they bleed a civilization to extinction.End.
