Why Mohan Bhagwat Did Not Attend Modi’s Swearing In ceremony?

Moahn Bhagwat is Sar-sangha chalak i.e. head of the organisation which stands for Hindu nation. BJS (Bharatiya Jan Sangh) or today’s BJP is the creation of RSS. The second head of the RSS M S Golwalkar was responsible for the creation political wing of RSS – the Jan Sangh.
In his Hindu Rashtra concept state is secondary to the nation. That also means government is secondary to the nation. Golwalkar also clarified in his book that political power is secondary. Golwalkar is in his book, “We or Our nationhood Defined” (1939) says, “We stand for national regeneration and not for that haphazard bundle of political rights-the state”
Golwalkar called Jan Sangh as a state and RSS as a Nation. Today also in the RSS’ view BJP is state i.e. secondary to Nation. In Hindu system king is secondary to priest. The king bows before the priest. RSS follows this ancient rule. In other words this is four varna (Chaturvarnya) model, which is other name of Hindu nation.
There are examples to corroborate this. In 2000 when L K Advani was deputy Prime Minister. He attended the RSS function at Agra. On the dais at higher stage was seated Sudarshan - the Sar Sangha chalak and Advani was given the chair down below. He was not given same status as RSS chief, even though he was the second head of the state. RSS had shown the ruling person his position in the RSS model of hierarchy.
In October 2000 there held national convention of BJP at Nagpur. Atal Behari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister. He went to RSS headquarter at Reshim bag, Nagpur to meet Sudarshan. When he reached the office an ordinary Swayamsewak welcomed him at the gate of the building. Sudarshan did not went to receive him. Sudarshan conveyed to the head of the state – the Prime Minister that RSS chief is above the Prime minister i.e. the ‘state’ is secondary to the ‘nation.’
Bhagwat by not attending the swearing in ceremony of Modi proved that he is above the Prime Minister. The RSS chief cannot take inferior position to the Prime Minister. Obviously, there could not have higher seating arrangement for the RSS chief at this function. This is the real reason behind Bhagwat’s absenting. Nagpur RSS clarified that he had pre fixed programme for not attending Modi’s coronation. Had he planned to attend the coronation he would have to sit down below the stage. This was like breaking the ‘Nation-State’ hierarchy of the ‘Hindu Nation’. See in the future if Modi - the P.M. attends the RSS function and observe where he is given the seat in that function.
