Imprudence Of Riyaz Punjabi

It was imprudent of Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University, Mr. Riyaz Punjabi, to participate in the Seminar organized by Dr. Shyma Prasad Mukerjee foundation in Kashmir on 23rd June 2010 & share stage with communal & fascit forces of the country, whome even the ordinary indians look down upon with contempt & disgust.
Before communicating his willingness & lending a degree of credence to the seminar by his participation, Mr. Punjabi should have known who Dr.S.P. Mukerjee was? He should have made some discreet enquiries about the head of the foundation Mr. Tarun Vijay. Presuming his ignorance in the matter, let me tell him about the personalities involved & their aims & objectives in holding such seminars in Kashmir.
Mookerjee, who belonged to the cadres of Hindu Mahasabha, was inducted by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in the Cabinet in 1947 as a Minister for Industry and Supply at the instance of Home Minister Sardar Patel. He was such a fanatic Hindu that on issue of the 1949 Delhi Pact with Pakistani Prime Minister Liaqat Ali Khan, Mookerjee resigned from the Cabinet on April 6, 1950. Mookerjee was firmly against Nehru's desire of warm relations with Pakistan. He wanted to hold Pakistan directly responsible for the migration of millions of Hindu from East Pakistan & considered Nehru's actions as appeasement of Muslims. His infamous speech of Feberuary 11 1951, exhorting Indian Muslims to pack their bags & leave India for good forms a pivot against which the whole Hidutva strategy revolves till date.
Following his parting of ways with Nehru, Shyama Prasad Mookerjee founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh (BJS) on October 21, 1951, The BJS was ideologically close to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and widely considered the political arm of Hindu Nationalism. It was opposed to granting of any rights to India's Muslims by Nehru and considered such rights as favours.. The BJS also favored a uniform civil code governing personal law matters for both Hindus and Muslims, wanted to ban cow slaughter and end the special status given to the Muslim-majority state of Jammu and Kashmir. The BJS founded the Hindutva agenda which became the wider political expression of India's Hindu majority.
In 1953 he entered Kashmir and started an agitation under the banner of Praja Parishad demanding end of Article 370 & other laws granting special status to J&K. He was arrested for Violating the permit rules prevailing at that time and died in Jail on 23rd day of June 1953. It is in memory of this event & date that a seminar was held in Kashmir under the aegis of SPMFoundation, which Mr. Punjabi should have known. Many political analysts believe that the agitation started by Mookerji & his subsequent death was responsible for downfall of Abdullah Govt. culminating in his arrest on 9th August 1953.
And the head of this foundation, Mr. Tarun Vijay does not need any introduction. A rabid communal person, Mr. Vijay is a disciple Of Prof. Rajinder Singh alias Raju Bhaiya, the third Sangsarchalk of RSS. He has also been the Editor of Panchjyana, a mouth piece of RSS.This paper is known for propagating politics of hatred against Indian Muslims. He regularly writes a blog titled as “Indus Calling” which disseminates views & opinions repugnant to the idea of India itself. It would need reams of paper to reproduce the obscene & malicious matter written by Mr. Tarun till date but for Mr. Punjabi’s benefit some latest extracts from his blog & Panchjyana are being reproduced hereunder:
In his blog dated, 22nd December 2009 titled “My name is not Khan- I am Mr. KAUL” Mr. Tarun Vijay wants his readers to believe that in India only Muslims (Khans) are cared for to the entire exclusion of Kauls (Kashmiri Hindus).
In yet another blog dated 26th Jannuary 2010, Mr. Tarun Vijay writes:
“There is one tricolor, which is our soul. We sing for it, love it, feel thrilled when it's fluttered on any part of this planet. That's us and our invincible tricolour.
And here is another flag. We hardly know about it. A piece that has to be displayed on the bonnets of the Ambassador cars the governor, the chief minister, the Union home minister or even the Prime Minister uses to negotiate a Kashmir road. Suddenly there are two flags, two people, two lands. And still one republic? Ask Justice Sagheer Ahmad and hear the "give more autonomy to J&K" call. More, still more, autonomy for what? A seperate flag and wanting to be more seperate?
Whose flag is it, any way? They say it's Kashmir's flag. So why don’t our rulers hoist it too in the Republic Day parade in New Delhi? A bit red-faced, they say it’s just for Kashmir.We can’t buy an inch of land in Kashmir because there is a provision in the Indian Constitution that bars it. That's called Article 370.”
The evil brain of Mr. Vijay is again visible from his blog of 07-09-09
“ Those who spoke about a cartoon in Denmark (refrence here is to derogatory cartoons published in a Denmark news paper about our beloved Prophet-PBUH) chose to wear silence on the continued assaults on the Hindu rights in Malaysia. Post-partition, Hindus faced the worst-ever ethnic cleansing in Kashmir and half a million Hindus were forcibly exiled leaving behind their age-old homes, temples, orchards and an entire world of life.Those who still chose to remain there faced extinction, humiliation, with government jobs barred and a virtual exile from politics.Their girls are raped and forcibly taken away, temples desecrated, crematoriums denied, and festival celebrations curtailed”.
In Panchjyana of 28th Feberuary 2008, My. Vijay writes :
“The two flags for Kashmir fluttering over Srinagar Secretariat give us sleepless nights and steel our resolve to undo the wrong”
What Mr. Punjabi said at the seminar is of no importance? I also do not mind if Mr. Punjabi holds political views on Kashmir issue which are at variance with the commonly held views of the majority of people but he has stooped very low by aligning himself with forces of evil. By rubbing shoulders with a fascist brigade, he has done an irrepairable damage to the secular ethos of Kashmir and decimated his own stature in the process. He owes an unconditional apology to the kashmiri nation for this audacity.
Oh-yes Mr. Tarun Vijay in his speech also said that Mr. Punjabi has revolutionsed the youth of Kashmir. Mr. Punjabi needs to share with the nation the details & agenda of that revolutionary programme?
