Take a gander at the state of affairs of today's youth and you have to wonder...
For starters, they have their $90,000 student loan to pay off for
waitressing school or hamburger slinging University or whatever their
"vital to modern civilization", unduplicated by Asian slave labor,
skill is.
Next, there is my social security which I payed into personally like a
religious zealot, as if I had a choice. Do they want me to croak in
the streets and make a scene? Come on!
And, as if these lazy bums did not have enough on their plate, there
is the national debt of umpteen trillion - not a million, not a
billion, I said trill ye on!
Every day as I watch these moping teenagers on the light rail, with
earbuds, Android phone and all, wending their way in futile pursuit of
the almighty dollar, I recollect.
When I was their age, I was smokin' dope and livin' large. How is it
that these miscreants are missing the boat. They need to pull
themselves up by their bootstraps! That was the wisdom of my day and
so shall it be forever "The Secret" of the ages.
Hey, come on now, it's just simple arithmetic. You add $90,000 student
loan to $120,000 for my social security over the next 20 years and
then there is the $50,000 per head in national debt they owe (we're
not even including medicare, entitlements and future interest on the
interest etc.); at $20/ hour they are gonna be workin' hard the rest
of their life to pay that off, assuming they squander nothing on food,
shelter, clothing and other decadent luxuries.
Also, good luck finding a $20/hour job in the US in this day and age,
HA! You better be rich already or a politician on the take from the
corporations or your ass is grass (exhale).
So, kids, you got your life's work cut out for you. Just remember, you
live in the greatest country that ever was or ever could be. Now, back
to work, you ungrateful piece of...
