This morning at approximately 8.15, a large army of police officers, officials of the Israeli Land Administration and the Jewish National Fund (JNF), demolition contractors and trucks invaded the village of El Araqib for the 12th time in order to yet again completely demolish it.

This time numerous trucks were brought, onto which all the demolished pieces of construction material were loaded to prevent their reuse.

Following the last two demolitions, work commenced on clearing the land for tree planting, which will apparently occur today.

Police forces blocked all the entrances into the village and prevented entry to both the residents and activists.

In the legal petition submitted by El Araqib residents to the Beer Sheva District Court against the State and JNF to halt the land clearing in preparation for planting, the judge recommended to the plaintiffs not to create irreversible facts on the ground prior to the court ruling concerning ownership of the land.

El Araqib community leaders and residents are determined to hold their land until their ownership is recognized.
