Here is my interview with Ramkali, younger sister of Phoolan Devi, who is suffering from ailment and yet unable to go to a doctor. Both mother and daughter are languishing at their ancestral home in Shekhpurgudha, Kalpi, Uttar-Pradesh and depend on daily labour work for their survival.

Phoolan Devi was an extraordinary woman. A woman of courage who did not live a life of humiliation but lived with her head high and with great sense of dignity and self respect. A two time Member of Parliament on Samajwadi Party ticket from UP, Phoolan was killed at her residence in 2001. After her untimely death Samajwadi Party seems to have abandoned her legacy and ignored her immediate family. Today, her mother and younger Sister Ramkali are languishing in hunger and poverty. The mother daughter due in their parental place are unable to get treatment because of resources. This video is aimed to get her helped so that both of them can live life with dignity and self respect. At the moment they work as NREGA labour and do not earn more than Rs 2000 per month. Here is this interview with her sister Ramkali which was taken on August 12th, 2012 at her ancestral place in Shekhpurgudha, Kalpi, district Jalaun, Uttar-Pradesh.
