US, UK And Anglosphere Human Rights Abuses
And War Crimes Trash Magna Carta 800th Anniversary

15 June 2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta by King John at Runnymede. Magna Carta notably gave English “free men” freedom from arbitrary, non-judicial imprisonment, dispossession, outlawing, banishment or destruction by the ruler, a freedom that was variously progressively extended to all citizens and subjects in the Anglosphere over the next 8 centuries. However the US, UK, Apartheid Israel, and Australia have continued to grossly violate this freedom in the 21st century.
King John I of England reluctantly granted the Magna Carta ("the Great Charter") on 15 June 1215 after leading Barons had insisted on formal agreement of their rights and had threatened war if their demands were not met. King John was forced to agree not to confiscate lands unfairly, not to raise taxes without consent, not to imprison subjects without legal judgement of their peers and not to employ foreign mercenaries. Back in the 13th century Magna Carta in practice applied to the Barons, other propertied people and the Church but was slowly extended over the following 8 centuries to all citizens and imperial subjects [1, 2].
A key part of the Magna Carta reads: “No free man shall be taken or imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed, nor will we go upon him, nor send upon him, except by the legal judgement of his peers or by the law of the land” [1] - however, as succinctly summarized below, historically this has been grossly violated by Britain and its genocide-based Anglosphere colonial off-shoots, namely the US, Canada, Apartheid Australia, New Zealand and Apartheid Israel, and these states continue to grossly violate this injunction in the 21st century by remorseless state terrorism.
Apartheid Israel.
Genocidal racism-based, nuclear terrorist, democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel was founded by the UK, continues to be sustained by the US, and continues to be shamelessly backed by the UK, Canada, Apartheid Australia, and New Zealand. The horrendous dimensions of the ongoing Palestinian Genocide can be summarized by the following appalling statistics: in 1880 there were about 500,000 Indigenous Arabs in Palestine and about 25,000 Jews (half of these being immigrants). Today after a century of violent, UK- , US- , Australian-backed and indeed Anglosphere- and EU-backed Zionist colonization, there are some 12 million Palestinians, of whom 6 million are forbidden to live in Palestine, 1.7 million are Palestinian Israelis with restricted human rights and who represent 20% of the Israeli population, 2.5 million are Occupied Palestinians living without human rights under military rule in West Bank mini-Bantustans, and 1.8 million are Occupied Palestinians without human rights and highly abusively confined in what the Catholic Church has described as the Gaza Concentration Camp for the asserted crime of being Indigenous Palestinians still living in a tiny patch of the land continuously inhabited by their forebears for thousands of years to the very dawn of agrarian civilization. Since 1936, 2 million Palestinians have been killed, 0.1 million violently and 1.9 million by war-, expulsion- and occupation-imposed deprivation. There are 7 million Palestinian refugees. Of 12 million Palestinians only 7% are permitted, albeit as Third Class citizens, to vote for the Apartheid Israel government ruling all of Palestine plus an ethnically cleansed slab of Syria [3].
In gross violation of the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Geneva Convention, the Rights of the Child Convention, what theologians call the Natural Law and numerous UN General Assembly Resolutions, democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel highly abusively imprisons 4.3 million Occupied Palestinians (in ghettoes, in the Gaza Concentration Camp, or in Apartheid Israeli prisons), continues to dispossess 12 million Palestinians (7 million of whom arte refugees), and continues to outlaw and banish 6 million Exiled Palestinians (and indeed any of its Palestinian subjects it arbitrarily decides to banish). Indeed Cheryl Rubenberg in her book “The Palestinians: in Search of a Just Peace” states: “In a December 2001 poll conducted by the Israeli daily Ma'ariv, “50 percent of Israelis now favour “Transferring” the Arabs on the West Bank and the Gaza Strip to Arab countries”” (page 139, [4]). Openly genocidally racist Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman in 2012 advocated stripping Israeli Arabs of citizenship, stating “Any future agreement with the Palestinians must address the matter of Israeli Arabs in the formula of territory and population exchanges. Any other arrangement is simply collective suicide. This has to be clear and I think it is time to say these things out loud” [5]. This racist demagogue has further stated (2015): “Those who are with us deserve everything, but those who are against us deserve to have their heads chopped off with an axe … Those who raise the black flag on 'Nakba Day' in mourning over the establishment of Israel do not belong here, as far as I am concerned, and I am quite willing to donate them to PA chief Mahmoud Abbas. It would be my pleasure… There is no reason for Umm el-Fahm [an Arab majority area] to be a part of Israel" [6].
In contrast to this vicious, genocidal Zionist racism, are the words of outstanding anti-racist Jewish American scholar Professor Jared Diamond who in his best-selling book "Collapse” (Prologue, p10, Penguin edition) enunciated the "moral principle, namely that it is morally wrong for one people to dispossess, subjugate, or exterminate another people" [7] – an injunction if generalized in keeping with Magna Carta but grossly violated by racist Zionist (RZ)-run Apartheid Israel and its racist, genocide-committing and genocide-ignoring US Alliance backers, the US, UK, Canada, New Zealand and Apartheid Australia. Numerous anti-racist Jewish and non-Jewish scholars and writers have echoed Professor Diamond's humane sentiments [8-12].
Apartheid Australia.
Australia was founded as a British penal colony in 1788. In the century after the British invasion in 1788 the Australian Aboriginal population dropped from about 1 million to 0.1 million through dispossession, deprivation, introduced disease and violence. Since 1788 some 2 million Indigenous Australians have died untimely deaths, White Australians have destroyed 600 out of 750 distinct Australian Aboriginal groups (and associated languages and dialects) and of the remaining 150 all but 20 are endangered, this qualitatively representing the worst genocide in human history [13-17]. As UK lackeys or US lackeys Australians have invaded 85 countries (as compared to the British 193, France, 80, the US 70 and Apartheid Israel 12) [17] with 30 of these invasions associated with genocide, a horrible reality overwhelmingly ignored by Mainstream Australian media, politicians and academics [16] . History ignored yields history repeated and look-the-other-way Australia is consequently now into its Seventh Iraq War of the last 100 years [18]. By withholding food from its huge wartime grain stores, Australia was complicit in the 1942-1945 Bengali Holocaust (WW2 Indian Holocaust, WW2 Bengal Famine) in which the British deliberately starved 6-7 million Indians to death for strategic reasons [19]. Australia thence participated in all post-1950 US Asian wars, atrocities in which 40 million Asians died through violence or war-imposed deprivation. The US Alliance, of which Australia is a craven part, is responsible for generating 27 million Muslim refugees (who have been effectively “banished”) . This appalling record, if generally known, would obscure Australia's worthy history as a world leader in achieving major humane social innovations within Australia such as free, secular education, free trade unions, the 8 hour working day, democratic elections in the 19th century and female suffrage (1901) (albeit effectively only for White Australians until after the referendum in 1967 that decide to count Indigenous Australians as citizens).
US lackey Australia's record in relation to overseas subjects being “imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed” continues to be appalling in the 21st century. Australia together with the UK and US illegally invaded Iraq in 2003 despite expert intelligence advice on the absence of any evidence for Iraqi Weapons of Mass destruction from Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Wilkie (who resigned his distinguished career over the issue). 2.7 million Iraqis were “destroyed” from violence or violently-imposed and 5-6 million refugees were generated (“banished”). US lackey Australia also invaded and occupied Afghanistan as part of the serial war criminal US Alliance – 5.5 million Afghan were “destroyed” by violence or violently-imposed deprivation and 5-6 million refugees were generated (“banished”) [17]. Afghan prisoners taken by Australian forces have been handed over to the Americans and US-backed Afghan forces with subsequent torture and killing. Australia's Pine Gap joint electronic spying facility with the US in Central Australia is intimately involved in US nuclear terrorism and is crucial in the targeting of illegal US drone strikes in a swathe of Muslim countries, specifically Libya, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan [20-24].
Australia has a worsening domestic record of its own citizens and its domestic subjects being “imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed” as summarized below:
(a) Indigenous Australians (including children) in the neo-fascist Northern Territory are subject to “paperless” arrest and imprisonment;
(b) refugees approaching Australia by boat (including children) are subject to indefinite, highly abusive imprisonment without charge or trial in remote, off-shore concentration camps;
(c) misguided Australians linked to violent organizations that the war criminal Lib-Lab state terrorists don't like – and accordingly named as “terrorists” - can be executed by US drone strikes targeted by Australia's Pine Gap spying facility, and all this without any charge or trial. The first such Australian to be executed in this way was recently killed in a US drone strike in the Yemen [23], but this has not caused any political fuss in Australia, in contrast to the storm over Obama's creation of a “kill list” and execution of an American in this way in the Yemen [24];
(d) the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is back in the business of killing Iraqis, this having commenced in 1915 with the Australian Flying Corps [17]. It is likely that scores or even hundreds of misguided Australian “foreign fighters” will be extrajudicially executed in this way through Australian involvement in the Iraqi civil war;
(e) about 80,000 Australians die preventably each year (remember “or in any way destroyed” ), this including 4,000 Indigenous Australians (whose annual avoidable death rate as a % of population per year of 0.6% pa is 50% greater than the 0.4% pa in impoverished South Asia) and about 600 Australian opiate drug-related deaths annually are linked to US Alliance restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry [25].
(f) the Australian Coalition Government with Labor Opposition support wants to “banish” those named as terrorists by stripping them of Australian citizenship if they have “dual citizenship”. However the Coalition has excited outrage from legal experts by wanting to go further by (i) thus punishing those with sole Australian citizenship (thereby making them stateless) and (ii) enabling a Government Minister to do this by personal fiat based on secret information rather than the courts doing this based on proper and public evidence. Of course resolutely pro-Zionist Australia fails to bring to account Australian “foreign fighters” committing war crimes for Apartheid Israel and even those involved in the reported Israeli tasering , shooting, kidnapping, bombing, robbing, torturing or killing of Australians [26, 27].
(g) State and Federal Australian Governments are party to continuing Australian Aboriginal Genocide and Australian Indigenous Ethnocide by trying to close 150 remote communities and deadly deprivation of those in remote communities (“banishment') [13-15].
(h) Australia is a world leader in annual per capita greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution that seriously threatened Humanity and the Biosphere. About 10,000 Australians die each year from the effects of pollutants from coal burning, vehicle exhaust and other carbon burning (“or in any way destroyed”) [25, 28].
(i) Recent reports indicate that the Australia Government has been engaged in illegal “people smuggling”, paying Indonesian sailors tens of thousands of dollars transport refugees to Indonesia from Australian waters.
Canada.
Canada was tarnished by the genocide of its Indigenous Inhabitants but, unlike Australia, variously made Treaties with First Nations peoples. Such Treaties may be useful in constraining Canada's deadly and disproportionate greenhouse gas (GHG) pollution [29]. Canada, like Australia and New Zealand was variously involved in genocidal wars of the British Empire and the American Empire [30]. Canada has been involved in the Zionist-promoted US War on Muslims that has (so far) killed 13 million Muslims through violence or war-imposed deprivation since 1990 and is associated with 27 million Muslim refugees (“banished” people). Afghan prisoners taken by Canadian forces have been handed over to the Americans and US-backed Afghan forces with subsequent torture and killing. Further, 1.1 million Canadians have died preventably since 2001 linked to the perverted Canadian Government fiscal priorities of killing Muslims abroad rather than keeping Canadians alive at home. In addition, while about 160 Canadians have been killed and 1,900 have been wounded in the Afghan War, it can be estimated that about 10,000 Canadians have died opiate drug-related deaths since 2001 linked to US Alliance restoration of the Taliban-destroyed Afghan opium industry [31].
New Zealand.
New Zealand experienced an Australian-complicit British Maori Genocide. The New Zealand (Aotearoa) Maori population dropped from 0.1-0.2 million in 1800 to 42,000 in 1893 [16]. New Zealand, like Canada and Australia, was variously involved in genocidal wars of the British Empire and the American Empire [30]. New Zealand participated in America's Afghan Genocide and has now joined the US , UK and Australia in the West's ongoing Iraqi Genocide [30].
Given the similarities between Australia (2013 population 23.1 million) and New Zealand (population 4.5 million) , the 81,000 annual preventable deaths in Australia [25] suggests New Zealand annual preventable deaths of 81,000 x 4.5 million /23.1 million = 16,000 (remember the Magna Carta's “or in any way destroyed”).
United Kingdom.
Subject to definition of “free man”, Britain leads the world in violating the Magna Carta's injunction that “No free man shall be taken or imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed”. Thus in the last 2 millennia the British have invaded 193 out of 203 present-day countries (195 UN-recognized nations and 8 non-UN-recognized self-governing countries) as compared to Australians 85, the French 80, the US 70 and Apartheid Israel 12. [14]. However the British invasion of Australia on 26 January 1788 ultimately destroyed as many as 600 unique Indigenous Australian tribes and a comparable number of languages and dialects (it is estimated that in 1788 there were 300 distinct Aboriginal language groups and 750 dialects of which only 150 survive), this making the Australian Aboriginal Genocide qualitatively the worst genocide in human history. Great Britain brought invasion, occupation, dispossession and genocidal mass murder to all inhabited continents [14, 30].
Britain's quantitatively worst genocides in the last 100 years , in descending order of magnitude, were the post-1950 Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust (1,500 million avoidable deaths from deprivation of which about half, 730 million, were in countries occupied by the UK in the post-1945 era) [30], the 1900-1947 Indian Holocaust (450 million avoidable Indian deaths due to imposed deprivation) [30], the post-1990 Muslim Holocaust and Muslim Genocide (13 million Muslims killed by violence or imposed deprivation) [32], 1942-1945 WW2 Bengali ( 6-7 million Indians deliberately starved to death with Australian complicity) [16, 19], the 1914-present Iraqi Genocide (9 million Iraqi deaths from violence or deprivation) [33], and the 2001-present Afghan Genocide (6 million Afghan deaths from deaths from violence or deprivation) (“in any way destroyed”) [34]. Afghan and Iraqi prisoners taken by British forces have been handed over to the Americans and US-backed Indigenous forces with subsequent torture and killing. These atrocities have been associated with huge numbers of refugees (“banished” people) , notably 18 million refugees associated with the 1947 Indian Partition (roughly 9 million Muslims and 9 million Hindus) and 27 million Muslim refugees generated by UK-established Apartheid Israel and by the UK-backed US Alliance. Having destroyed secular government and prosperity in Iraq and Libya, a serial war criminal Britain is now doing the same in Syria [35].
All this horror is in stark contrast to the peace, civility and rule of law within the UK itself. However post-1945 Great Britain has a worsening domestic record of its own citizens being “imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed” as summarized below:
(a) The Northern Irish “Troubles” were associated with 3,500 killed, over 48,000 wounded, mass imprisonment and human rights abuses [36].
(b) About 150,000 people die preventably each year in the UK (2011 population 62.4 million) [37].
(c ) The UK has moved to strip alleged “terrorists” of citizenship (“banishment”), as has the US and US lackey Australia. Since 2006, the UK has stripped the citizenship of more than 27 British nationals on the grounds of public good, including a number suspected of supporting terrorist groups [38]. This policy has come unstuck recently in the courts e.g. the “terrorism” charges against one Bherlin Gildo were dropped when it was revealed that the UK Government was supporting the same Syrian “terrorists” that he was supporting [39].
United States.
The US has invaded 70 countries [40] as compared to the British 193 [14], the Australians 85 [17], the French 80 [41] and Apartheid Israel 12 [42] . Some of these invasions have been massively genocidal [32-34]. Indeed a prime reason for the 1776 American Revolution was to overcome the British prohibition of Westward expansion at the expense of the Indians (British allies against the French) and the 1830s and 1840s saw genocidal removal of Indians from east of the Mississippi [43]. American deaths in 11 major wars total 1.3 million but this is eclipsed by civilian deaths from violence or deprivation totalling 90 million in WW2, 47 million deaths in post-1950 US wars, 10 million Muslim deaths in the post-9-11 War on Terror and 20 million preventable American deaths since 9-11 [44]. Of course the most horrifying American mass murder was the killing of 200,000 civilians in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Successive American governments claim to be leading a global fight of Western civilization against Muslim extremists but the Awful Truth is that American governments lie and that a pro-One Percenter, religious fundamentalist-dominated, Neocon American and Zionist Imperialist (NAZI)-perverted America has an appalling record of supporting and exciting religious fundamentalist rebels (jihadis) against modern, secular regimes in Muslim countries with the collateral trashing of democracy, women's rights, and children's rights [35]. The US has backed death squads and extremely repressive regimes worldwide [30, 45]. The US has a major responsibility for the Global Avoidable Mortality Holocaust of 1,500 million avoidable deaths from deprivation since 1950 on Spaceship Earth with the US in charge of the flight deck. Post-1950 avoidable deaths in countries occupied by the US in the post-1945 era total about 90 million [30].
The US in the 21st century has an appalling domestic record of its own citizens being “imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed” as sketched below:
(a) The US has 716 prisoners per 100,000 population as compared to Australia (130), Canada (118), China (121) and India (30) (“imprisonment”) [46].
(b) Millions of Americans are excluded from voting and other rights by felony laws (effective disenfranchisement and diminished citizenship). Thus about 80% of African –American adult males in Chicago are excluded from voting [47].
(c ) The US has highly abusively imprisoned about 780 people without charge or trial at Guantanamo Bay since 2001 and about 116 remain. This incarceration has been associated with torture [48].
(d) The US strips citizenship off its citizens for war crimes and for affiliation with the Communist Party, totalitarian groups and terrorist organizations [38].
(e) About 1.5 million Americans die preventably each year and hence about 20 million Americans have died thus since the US Government's 9-11 false flag operation on 9-11. This huge carnage of 20 million preventable American deaths since September 2001 must be seen in the context of a fiscal perversion in which $8-10 trillion in roughly today's dollars has been committed in this period by the Neocon American and Zionist Imperialist (NAZI) One Percenter American Establishment to the US War on Muslims and the strategic interests of nuclear terrorist, democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel [49].
(f) Obama has set up a “kill list” for extrajudicial killing of people his government doesn't like, a notable victim allegedly being Osama bin Laden, allegedly killed by US Navy Seals in Pakistan (others say he died many years earlier and, of course, US Governments lie). However the extrajudicial killing of Anwar al-Awlaki by drone attack in the Yemen was controversial because he was a US citizen [24]. This chillingly violates the 800 year old Magna Carta prohibition of arbitrary killing of subjects by the ruler.
Summary.
15 June 2015 marks the 800th anniversary of the signing of Magna Carta that was a significant step in curbing authoritarian power in England, and thence in the Anglosphere and the world as a whole. A key part of Magna Carta reads: “No free man shall be taken or imprisoned or dispossessed, or outlawed, or banished, or in any way destroyed, nor will we go upon him, nor send upon him, except by the legal judgement of his peers or by the law of the land” [1] , but as outlined above, this injunction has been grossly violated historically by the UK and its genocide-based Anglosphere colonial off-shoots, namely the US, Canada, Apartheid Australia, New Zealand and Apartheid Israel, and these states continue to variously grossly violate this injunction in the 21st century. Non-state terrorism and state terrorism are both evil and intolerable.
What can civilized people do? Civilized people resolutely believe in all human rights for all people and all they can do is to (a) inform everyone they can about UK state terrorism, US state terrorism, Australian state terrorism, Israeli state terrorism, Canadian state terrorism and New Zealand state terrorism, and (b) use their power as consumers of goods and services to urge and apply Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against all those involved in gross and violent abuse of human rights.
