Mainstream politicians and media in look-the-other-way Apartheid Australia (a country applying race-based laws against minority Subjects) have an entrenched culture of self-censorship and censorship. Indeed this Mainstream lying by omission and commission obtains in all the other Western Murdochracies and Lobbyocracies, pseudo democracies in which “money buys truth”, “money buys perception” and “money buys votes”.
The Age newspaper, Melbourne , Australia , of the Fairfax media empire, is arguably the most progressive of Australia 's Mainstream media but that is not saying much because the appalling, extreme right wing Rupert Murdoch media empire owns 70% of major Australian city newspapers. However The Age, like other Australian media, is infested with Zionist, pro-Zionist and pro-US staff who ensure a culture of egregious lying by omission and lying by commission that is most evilly expressed in holocaust ignoring and genocide ignoring, noting that holocaust ignoring is far worse than utterly repugnant holocaust denial, because at least the latter admits the possibility of public discussion.
Holocaust ignoring and genocide ignoring self-censorship by The Age is readily demonstrated below, noting that “holocaust” means the death of a huge number of people whereas “genocide” is defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide thus: “In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group, as such: a) Killing members of the group; b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group; e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.”
The first World War 2 atrocity to be described as a “holocaust” (by N.G. Jog in his 1944 book “Churchill's Blindspot: India”) was the “forgotten” man-made Bengali Holocaust in which 6-7 million Indians were deliberately starved to death by the British under Winston Churchill. This atrocity has been white-washed out of British history by Churchill himself and by several generations of cowardly, lying, holocaust ignoring English-speaking politicians, academics, journalists and editors. In contrast, everyone is aware of the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million dead, 1 in 6 dying from deprivation) but due to racist Zionist perversion of our culture few are aware that the Jewish Holocaust was part of a wider WW2 Holocaust in which 30 million Slavs, Jews and Gypsies died because they were all regarded as untermenschen (sub-humans) by the Nazis just as the British until recently regarded Indians and indeed all non-Europeans as untermenschen. The racist Zionists (RZs) in their lying, murderous, ends-justify–the –means prosecution of the ongoing Palestinian Genocide have been the World's worst anti-Semites and holocaust deniers for a century.
Appalling holocausts and genocides have occurred in the post-1945 world but only those not actually committed on the ground by the Zionists or the Zionist-beholden US Alliance are called as such. Thus the Cambodian Genocide (1.5 million killed), the Rwandan Genocide (0.5-1.0 million killed) and the Darfur Genocide (0.3-0.5 million killed ) are deservedly called as such by the Mainstream media but these same Zionist –beholden media under-report the Darfur Genocide (possibly because of Israeli involvement through the bombing of the Sudan and arming of Sudanese rebels) and ignore the Zionist-complicit Palestinian Genocide (post-invasion excess deaths 0.3 million, 1967-2011), the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide (4.6 million war-related deaths, 1990-2011), Afghan Holocaust and Afghan Genocide (5.0 million war-related deaths, 2001-2011) and Somali Holocaust and Somali Genocide (war related deaths 2.1 million, 1992-2011).
Indeed a Search of The Age using its own Search Engine reveals zero (0) results for the terms “Bengali Holocaust”, “Palestinian Genocide”, “Iraqi Genocide”, “Iraqi Holocaust”, “Afghan Holocaust”, “Afghan Genocide”, “Darfur Genocide”, “Somali Holocaust” and “Somali Genocide” but 3 for “Cambodian Genocide”, 47 for “Rwandan Genocide”, 20 for “Jewish Holocaust” and 860 for “Holocaust”, but with The Age following the now overwhelmingly general, holocaust-denying, racist Zionist perversion of falsely identifying the WW2 Holocaust (30 million Slav, Jewish and Gypsy dead) with the WW2 Jewish Holocaust (5-6 million dead) (see: http://www.theage.com.au/execute_search.html?text=holocaust&ss=theage.com.au ). A Search of The Age for term “Bengal Famine” reveals only 2 results, specifically 2 reviews of the books “Churchill's Secret War. The British Empire and the ravaging of India during World War II” by Bengali writer Madhusree Mukerjee and “Three Famines” by Australian writer Tom Keneally, both published in 2010, nearly 70 years after the start of the 1942-1945 Bengali Holocaust.
The Age stands condemned for holocaust ignoring and genocide ignoring by its own in-house Search Engine but a different approach is needed to identify active censorship of readers of The Age trying to tell other readers of The Age about the 24 holocaust and genocide atrocities in which Australia has been involved or is still involved (for details see “Australian Anzac & Armenian Genocide”, MWC News: http://mwcnews.net/focus/analysis/10256-australian-anzac-a-armenian-genocide.html ).
The Age has an on-line version with a section called "National Times" incorporating letters to the Editor, editorials and op-ed pieces by in-house Age writers or other writers (academics, eminent Australians, writers from overseas newspapers). The Age invites comments from readers and publishes up to several hundred comments on these National Times articles. Such comments are overwhelmingly anonymous and accordingly uncredentialled.
I am a 5 decade career scientist and teach at a major Australian university. I regularly make informed, researched, referenced, credentialled comments to The Age National Times section under my name "Dr Gideon Polya" but am frequently completely or partially censored. This egregious censorship can reasonably be taken as indicative of what The Age does not want its readers to read and to know.
Below are 2 further examples of this egregious censorship by The Age newspaper.
On 7 June 2011 The Age completely censored my comments on an article it had published on the same day by Dan Oakes (The Age and Sydney Morning Herald defence correspondent) on the Afghan War and entitled “Latest death s demand answers about our Afghan involvement” (for details of the censorship and the article see: http://gpolya.newsvine.com/_news/2011/06/06/6801157-latest-australian-deaths-demand-answers-about-oz-afghan-involvement- ) . My comment set out carefully researched data on the human cost of the Afghan War that The Age evidently does not want its readers to encounter because it steadfastly refuses to report the shocking dimensions of either the Iraqi Holocaust (4.6 million war-related deaths, 1990-2011) or the Afghan Holocaust (5.0 million war-related deaths, 2001-2011). This is what The Age did not want its readers to read or to know:
"The ostensible reason for the Afghan War was 9-11 (3,000 killed) yet even according to the lying Bush-Obama "official version" of 9-11 no Afghans were involved in that atrocity. Indeed science, architecture, engineering, military, aviation and intelligence experts say that the US did 9-11 (for numerous expert opinions simply Google "US did 9-11').
As reported by the highly conservative News Limited, a US think tank determined that the the Bush Administration told 935 lies about Iraq alone in the 2 years after 9-11 and of course we now know that the Iraq invasion was illegal and based on false assertions about actually non-existent Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction.
The Iraq War, based on lies. has cost $3.5 trillion and 4,777 US Alliance lives and an Iraqi catastrophe involving 1.5 million violent deaths, 1.2 million avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation, 0.8 million under-5 infant deaths (90% avoidable and due to US Alliance war crimes) and 5-6 million refugees (see Iraqi Holocaust, Iraqi Genocide).
The Afghan War, also based on egregious lies and propaganda, has cost $1-2 trillion, 2,514 US Alliance lives and an Afghan catastrophe involving perhaps 1.2 million violent deaths, 3.8 million avoidable deaths from war-imposed deprivation, 2.7 million under-5 infant deaths (90% avoidable and due to US Alliance war crimes) and 3-4 million refugees (Google Afghan Holocaust, Afghan Genocide).
US Alliance violence supported by Western Murdochracy and Lobbyocracy politician and media lying by commission and omission has devastated Iraq (war-related deaths 4.6 million, 1990-2011) and Afghanistan (war-related deaths 5.0 million, 2001-2011) - an immense crime against Humanity."
The above censorship was not an accident because on 8 June 2011 The Age again completely censored my same comments on an article it had published on the same day by Raoul Heinrichs (doctoral scholar at the Australian National University, former research associate with the Lowy Institute) on the Afghan War and entitled “Soldiers' sacrifice best honoured by good policy: get out now” (for details of the censorship and the article see: http://gpolya.newsvine.com/_news/2011/06/07/6807636-afghan-war-soldiers-sacrifice-best-honoured-by-good-policy-get-out-now ). This is a further example of the Age steadfastly refusing to report the shocking dimensions of either the Iraqi Holocaust and Iraqi Genocide (4.6 million war-related deaths, 1990-2011) or the Afghan Holocaust and Afghan Genocide (5.0 million war-related deaths, 2001-2011). This is what The Age did not want its readers to read or to know in this latest instance of holocaust ignoring and genocide ignoring by The Age (noting that holocaust ignoring is far, far worse than repugnant holocaust denial because at least the latter admits the possibility of public discussion):

Conclusion.
History ignored yields history repeated. Rational risk management successively involves (a) reporting the facts, (b) scientific analysis and (c) informed systemic change to minimize risk to humanity. Self-censorship and censorship by media in relation to massive holocaust and genocide atrocities is unethical, morally repugnant and endangers Humanity. Genocide ignoring and holocaust ignoring are far, far worse than utterly repugnant genocide denial and holocaust denial, because at least the latter admit the possibility of public discussion.
