138 Nations Supported Palestinian Statehood -
Anti-Racists Must Boycott 9 Opponents & 41 Abstainers

By Dr Gideon Polya

01 December, 2012

Did your country's Government vote for Palestinian statehood? This is an important question because fundamental to democracy and self-determination is commitment to 1-man-1-vote regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race or religion and politicians not unequivocally supporting this fundamental proposition are simply anti-democratic and hence simply not fit to be elected.

The nuclear terrorist, serial war criminal, genocidally racist rogue state of Apartheid Israel is a kleptocratic (theft-based), theocratic (religion-based), ethnocratic (race-based), genocidal (genocide-based) democracy-by-genocide – of 12 million Palestinians only 6.7% are permitted to vote for the Government ruling all of Palestine, 6 million are forbidden to even step foot in their own country, 90% of which has now been ethnically cleansed of Indigenous Palestinians by the US-, UK-, Australia-, and Canada-backed racist Zionists.

The United Nations General Assembly resolution 67/19 was for the admission of Palestine as a United Nations non-member state with observer status. . It was adopted by the sixty-seventh session of the United Nations General Assembly on 29 November 2012 with 138 countries voting Yes, 9 countries voting No, 41 countries Abstaining and 5 countries being Absent (see “United Nations General Assembly resolution 67/19”, Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Nations_General_Assembly_resolution_67/19 ; for an AVAAZ Map showing how the world voted see “How the world voted on Palestine”, Salem News, 29 November 2012: http://www.salem-news.com/articles/november292012/palestine-numbers-sk.php ).

How did your country vote? Does you r Government support democracy or does it support theft, bigotry, racism, ethnic cleansing, and race-based perversion of democracy i.e. kleptocracy, theocracy, ethnocracy and democracy-by-genocide as exemplified by democracy-by-genocide Apartheid Israel?

(1). 138 pro-democracy countries that voted Yes:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia (Plurinational State of), Botswana, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, China, Comoros, Congo, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Cyprus, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Gabon, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Greece, Grenada, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Honduras, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Iraq, Ireland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lao People's Democratic Republic, Lebanon, Lesotho, Libya, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Qatar, Russian Federation, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Republic of Tanzania, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of), Viet Nam, Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

(2). 9 anti-democracy countries that voted No:

Canada, Czech Republic, Israel, Marshall Islands, Micronesia (Federated States of), Nauru, Palau, Panama, and United States of America.

(3). 41 anti-democracy countries that Abstained:

Albania, Andorra, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Colombia, Croatia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Estonia, Fiji, Germany, Guatemala, Haiti, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malawi, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Poland, Republic of Korea, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Rwanda, Samoa, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Togo, Tonga, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Vanuatu.

(4). 5 countries that ignored the seriousness of the proposition were Absent for the vote:

Equatorial Guinea, Kiribati, Liberia, Madagascar, and Ukraine.

(5). Australians for Palestine has further analyzed the voting pattern of ostensible democracies: “According to the highly respectable Democracy Index run by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), only 25 countries are full democracies. So, of those democracies, 17 voted for, 3 voted against and 5 abstained. If we take flawed democracies into account, 48 countries voted for, 5 voted against and 24 abstained” (see “How the world voted on Palestine”, Australians for Palestine, 30 November 2012: http://www.australiansforpalestine.net/72287 ).

This decision by an overwhelming majority of decent, pro-democracy countries has major empowering implications for the sorely oppressed Palestinians suffering under an ongoing Palestinian Genocide that has horrendous dimensions (see “Palestinian Genocide” :

(1). In 1880 there were about 0.5 million Indigenous Palestinians and of the 25,000 Jews in Palestine half were immigrants.

(2). Palestinian casualties of war violence total about 80,000 since 1948 and about 100,000 since 1936. However one must also consider avoidable Palestinian deaths from war-, expulsion- and occupation-imposed deprivation that now total about 1.9 million since 1948 i.e. since 1936 the Palestinian Genocide has been associated with 2 million Palestinian deaths from violence for violently-imposed deprivation. The Occupied Palestinian avoidable deaths since 1950 are estimated from UN Population Division data (2002 revision) at 677,000 and for all of Palestine at 0.677 million x 5.7 million (all Palestinians still within Palestine)/4.1 million (Occupied Palestinians) = 940,000. However we must also include Palestinians outside Palestine and forbidden to return (roughly 2 times those within Palestine) and thus the estimate of post-1950 Palestinian avoidable deaths from imposed deprivation = 0.94 million x 2 = 1.88 million = 1.9 million.

(3). Palestinian refugees total about 7 million of whom about 5 million are registered with the UN. Of 12 million Palestinians about 6 million are forbidden to even step foot in their own country, one fo the woi4kld's oldest civilizations dating to the very dawn of agrarian civilization. This has been a Palestinian Genocide as defined by Article 2 of the UN Genocide Convention: "acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial or religious group".

(4) According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry: “From 1920 through 1999, a total of 2,500 residents of Mandatory Palestine and, since 1948, the State of Israel fell victims to hostile enemy action; in most cases, terrorist attacks” and “1,218 people have been killed by Palestinian violence and terrorism since September 2000” i.e. 3,700 Israelis have been killed by Palestinians since 1920 as compared to 2.0 million Palestinians killed by racist Zionist colonizers since 1936.

(5). The race-based, racist Zionist-run Apartheid State of Israel is a democracy by genocide. Of about 12 million Palestinians only the adults of 1.6 million Palestinian Israelis (21% of the Israeli population) can vote for the government ruling all of Palestine plus part of Lebanon and a near-completely ethnically cleansed part of Syria, albeit as third class citizens. 1.6 million Occupied Palestinians are abusively confined to the Gaza Concentration Camp and 2.5 million Occupied Palestinians live under highly abusive military rule in West Bank Bantustans. About 6 million Palestinians are forbidden to even live in Palestine. There are 5.9 million Jewish Israelis and 0.3 million non-Jewish and non-Arab Israelis.

(6). 3,000 Palestinian infants and over 4,000 Palestinians in total are passively murdered through deprivation by Apartheid Israel each year, and 0.8 million Palestinian children (10% stunted due to the war criminal Israeli blockade) are abusively confined to the Gaza Concentration Camp for the "crime" of being Indigenous Palestinians. Of nearly 6 million Palestinian living in Israel/Palestine, 1.6 million Palestinian Israelis live as Third Class citizens under race-based Apartheid laws worse than the anti-Semitic laws in pre-war fascist Hungary; 2.5 million Occupied Palestinian are highly abusively confined under violent military rule and with zero human rights to ever-dwindling West Bank Bantustan ghettoes; and 1.6 million Occupied Palestinians are highly abusively confined to what the Catholic Church has described as the Gaza Concentration Camp that is policed not by guards with small arms, whips and dogs (like the WW2 Nazi German concentration camp guards but by air force high explosive bombing and naval and army shelling of one of the most densely populated urban areas in the world.

The UN vote for Palestinian Statehood means that the Palestinians can now take the war crimes of Apartheid Israel to the International Criminal Court and take other action internationally in support of human rights for Palestinians. If your country's government failed to vote for the Palestinian statehood resolution then it is not just opposed to human rights and democracy but is complicit in the ongoing Palestinian Genocide. And of course, those who vote for or otherwise support such racist, anti-democracy, pro-genocide, human rights-ignoring politicians are also complicit in this ongoing atrocity.

In my own country, Australia, the pro-Zionist, US lackey, neoliberal Labor Government (afraid of losing the Muslim vote) rejected the slavishly pro-Zionist and US lackey PM Julia Gillard's desire to vote No and plumped for a cowardly and unprincipled Abstention so that their Zionist-beholden American puppet-masters would not be too annoyed. The staunchly pro-Zionist, US lackey, corporatist Liberal Party-National Party Coalition of course demanded a No vote. The decent, pro-Humanity, pro-equity Greens demanded a Yes vote. Decent, anti-racist Jewish, Muslim, Christian and non-religious Australians, and especially decent, traditional Labor voters, will vote 1 Green and put Labor last until Labor reverts to decent values (the Coalition is just as bad but unlike neoliberal Labor has not actually betrayed decent Labor voters).

All decent anti-racist people around the world are delighted by the UN General Assembly decision on Palestinian statehood. Professor Francis Boyle (Professor of International Law at the University of Illinois College of Law, Illinois, USA, very active in the defence of human rights and author ofFoundations of World Order”, “The Criminality of Nuclear Deterrence”, “The Tamil Genocide by Sri Lanka” and “Palestine, Palestinians and International Law”), has welcomed the UN decision and predicts a new international “Legal Intifada” by the Palestinians using their newly-won power to access bodies such as the International Criminal Court.

Zionism is genocidal racism in awful theory and in horrible, war criminal practice. The racist Zionists and their anti-democracy, racist supporters must be sidelined from public life as have been like racists such as the Nazis, neo-Nazis, Apartheiders and KKK. Decent anti-racist folk around the world must (a) inform everyone they can and (b) urge ands apply Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) against Apartheid Israel and against all people, politicians, parties, countries and corporations complicit in Apartheid Israel's ongoing Palestinian Genocide. As that wonderful Palestinian humanitarian Jesus Christ stated “Whoever is not with me is against me” (The Holy Bible, Matthew 12:30).
