Indulgence Towards Narendra Modi For Temporizing

By Mustafa Khan

11 August, 2010
Countercurrents.org

The latest delaying and stalling tactic of the Chief Minister Narendra Modi is unacceptable by civil and judicial norms. When the CBI was asking Geetha Johri for questioning it is Modi’s visit to Rajkot on Independence Day that has caused the police commissioner there to request postponement of the meeting. Should Modi’s delaying tactics be allowed? This is in sharp contrast with the horrendous pogroms of Muslims that he and his administration had brought about which was not allowed to come in his way of holding the 2002 election. The wounds were not healed and Muslims had been too much terrified and were at mortal risk to face election. Many of them were still refugees too much overwhelmed by the carnage to stir anywhere outside let alone exercise their democratic right of voting. The Chief Election Commissioner was reluctant to oblige the insistent Chief Minister hell bent on declaring normalcy and holding election. In utter disregard of the anarchy in his state he made his ruling party in Gujarat and at the centre to clear official hurdles and hold the election.

Whose “appeasement” was that? How long should this go on and the civilized people of the country hold their breath for this? He must be Guinness world record champion to eat his cake and have it too! That largest cake anyone can bake: “functioning democracy.”! His tainted cops left so many footmarks of the Dragon and, lo! the Dragon is still in sight!

When Geetha Johri conducted inquiry in the second stint she was playing second fiddle to her CID boss OP Mathur as he was playing second fiddle to the CM Modi. Mathur did not want her to be straight in dealing with the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin. Therefore she mischievously replaced Tulsiram Prajapat with Kalimuddin in the resumed inquiry. This was the tune the CM and the BJP were playing: Kalimuddin was a Muslim name and hence a terrorist. No dummy Babulal Yadav would do. There was no need to physically provide false beard, a skull cap and checkered scarf to manufacture the identity.

She was called on Tuesday August 10, 2010 for inquiry by CBI. She could have attended the session and still manage the security arrangements meant for August 15 and yet she chose to delay rather than stagger her schedule.

Diversionary tactic

The Andhra Pradesh police were involved in the fake encounter of Sohrabuddin. Full five years have passed and now there is a din over investigating their involvement. But here too they have been ‘invited’ (?) to Ahmedabad to do another assignment rather than come clean on the encounter.

Modi has another front opened for him on the so called “war on terror.” His police let AP cops in to “choose and pick” a case from 2007 in which Mohammad Viquar Ahmed allegedly tried to loot a bank and killed a police man. From his locked house the police have found explosives and weapons and other incriminating evidence against him, the usual stuff that police are wont to plant with impunity, like CDs, photographs of Modi and police officers. There was nobody in the house, people of the house hardly necessary because the police do the pnachnama in their preconceived plans of framing. Perhaps he was like the cops, gullible. He left a broken key in the lock so that no one could open it. His house is situated of all places right under the nose of the police station of Ramol area, Ahemdabad. The house is on encroached land! This is the house that Jack built. This is the cop who broke the house. This is the stuff that the cop planted in the house that Jack built!

Thus goes the “war on terror” and delaying of justice. Inside the house arms and ammunition were neatly laid out and covered with a piece of cloth. One would think that he had made excellent arrangement for the police to find things on a platter! This is the way he laid out the arms for the convenience of the police to find in the house that Jack built.

Why did Viquar attack police man Vinay Jadhav in a bid to loot the bank in Maninager? Maninager is high security area and the place close to the heart of Modi and LK Advani! He wanted to loot money to organize a terrorist cell! What happened to the ever ready flowing fund from across the border for jihadi terrorist attacks in India?

Modi was on top of Viquar's hit list (TOI August 9, 2010)

This is the bank that Jack built…and this is the cat that killed the rat…How neatly were the weapons and photos of Narendra Modi, Pravin Togadia, etc arranged on the table and covered with a piece of cloth! How wonderfully have the cops connected the dots to expose the design and the conspiracy! Good fare it is for the courts of the state of Gujarat!

More indulgence and temporizing

Yet another milestone is the proposed Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor Summit and 'Davos in Action', a brain child of the Chief Minister who cannot travel to US and Europe so his mukhota or mask must travel. As his mukhota won him election so will it do his international standing in the world! Modi’s move to improve his international image will be boosted if he can also rope in Noam Chomsky as Arundhati Roy may not oblige him being busy with the comrades in arms. This is the house that Jack built and is still building.
