Runaway Climate Change : 20 Attempts To Model The Emergency

By Bill Henderson

16 July, 2007
Countercurrents.org

I
s runaway climate change hot? Is Paris Hilton trekking to Siberia to check out melting permafrost?

No.

I've written 20 net op-eds on runaway climate change. They are pasted on below.

So what? you say. Well, I guess you're not interested in rcc.

But if you are I have hyperlinks to most of the relevant rcc info sources on the net embedded in a shifting tapestry of contexts.

(Well, sort of - I'm a boomman not a writer, I'm sometimes clumsy and I make mistakes, but I do know that rcc isn't just the science and possible mitigation.)

They contain quotes from and links to seminal papers by Jim Hansen, George Monbiot and many others. ("One small dive for man, one giant leap backward for life on Earth." Jeremy Rifkin )

We don't have the capacity to completely understand something as terrible as rcc. Supposedly most of us freeze (stand in shock) in an emergency, but that's individuals in risk situations we understand not societies faced with an unprecedented insidious addiction. I've spent some time researching and thinking about rcc and I can help you think through a ton about rcc in a short time.

I'm no expert and this modeling of possible reaction to the emergency is by no means definitive - just an attempt to get past denial to action:
