LEFT For DEAD By The SIDE Of The ROAD

By Mary Hamer

18 June, 2012
Countercurrents.org

*PURPOSE: The purpose of this paper is to investigate how our modern global society intentionally inflicts pain & suffering on others & leaves critically injured humans, animals & ecosystems by the side of the road to die – i.e. Left for Dead. Homo Sapiens use, abuse & spit out those humans, animals & ecosystems it deems: Inferior, defective & weak -- who are in the way of Homo Sapien Narcissistic paths & goals. We destroy the Native American Indians, our abused children, the forgotten disabled, our abandoned pets, slaughtered farm animals, tortured research animals & the resource exploited planet Earth. Where is the love & compassion for the suffering Earth & it's living beings? Question: Are we humans committing Humanocide with the intent to inflict suffering on & to destroy others -- in pursuit of our selfish goals? How many of us in our daily lives offer a helping hand to the weak & wounded who have been Left for Dead by the side of the road? How many of us have a spirit of deep respect or Namaste (1) for humans, animals & the Earth?

* KEY SECTIONS: The Key Sections of this essay are:

I. Humanocide Definition. II. Examples of Humanocide & People Society has Left for Dead. III . How Can Humans Destroy Others with No Sense of Guilt? Moral Disengagement. IV. Why Do Humans Destroy Others? Malice, Revenge & Schadenfreude. V. Respect & Namaste.

I. HUMANOCIDE:

*”Humanocide is a new International crime committed by people, who conspire to destroy a targeted victim either mentally or physically. Humanocide is derived from basic concepts of International law & Psychology including: Genocide, Crimes against humanity, Zerzetzen psycho-terror & Bullying/Mobbing. Humanocide is a collective campaign of hatred & terror aimed at a victim that causes Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) (2), depression or suicide -- similar to war or prison camp experiences. The perpetrators of Humanocide Intend to harm the victim; The offenders act the opposite of Gandhi, Jesus & Martin Luther King's principles of Non-violence – in their attempts to destroy a targeted person. A Key weapon used by perpetrators of humanocide is Violent Language (3) Verbal violence is the silent crime being committed every day by offenders who walk the streets freely, But whose victims often end up in prisons or mental institutions. The crime of verbal violence is especially tragic when an adult offender targets a child." (4)

*LEFT for DEAD: The perpetrators of Humanocide with their intent to harm & destroy their targets -- often leave the victims for dead, by the side of the road. & Yes, this disrespect for other human beings, animals & the Earth is Intentional. Humanocide perpetrators deliberately inflict harm on a target victim including: Conditions of life, calculated to bring about its mental &/or physical destruction. (5) The level of culpable responsibility in leaving someone left for dead in life -- can be as low as condoning, tolerating the crime or turning a blind eye to suffering. (6)

II. EXAMPLES of HUMANOCIDE & People LEFT for DEAD:

*The GENOCIDE of the NATIVE AMERICAN INDIANS:

*GENOCIDE: "Was genocide, as an intentional act to kill -- committed by Christopher Columbus, European settlers, the U.S. government & Americans towards the Native Americans? Yes, there was an Intent to do the following: To kill, to harm, to decrease the population, to destroy the Native culture through forced relocation, to break treaties, to kidnap & brainwash the children & to impose the Christian faith upon them; There was the intent to cause serious physical & mental harm, etc. Yes, there was the means, the opportunity & the motive among these collective groups to commit physical & cultural genocide & to commit violent & non-violent death. Yes, there was an official U.S. policy of Native American Indian extermination."

*METAPHYSICAL Questions: "What is most troubling is that the crimes against humanity i.e. the Native Americans, were “Tolerated or condoned” – by the U.S. government. The United States prides itself for it's justice system & the Rule of law & yet the evidence shows many examples of serious injustices perpetrated by U.S. officials (Presidents, Generals, Governors & the U.S.Supreme Court) & U.S. citizens against the Native Peoples. Are the founding principles of the United States seriously flawed or is there a disconnect between these founding principles & their execution? What is even more troublesome is that the crimes against humanity committed against the Native Peoples in America were so pervasive & widespread extending from Christopher Columbus in 1492 through the colonial period, continuing through the American Revolution & Civil War & up until the present day. During this 500+ year history, there were only a few people who spoke publicly with conviction about the truth & defended the Native People such as Bartolome de Las Casas – The majority of people either directly committed crimes or they were complicit bystander partners in these crimes against the Native Americans." (7)

*CHILD ABUSE & PRISONERS: We adults righteously walk through our lives claiming to be perfect. We point fingers at & condemn “bad” Children in society; We emotionally abuse children with violent language. We physically abuse children hitting them & spanking them. We slander these inferior children in the media. We stalk & hunt the young & weak down. We shame & humiliate these non-compliant children – rather than offering them mental health care, housing & education. Ultimately, we give these children mental health conditions such as PTSD & depression. These damned & defective children drop out of college education & can not find jobs. Then we carry out “Justice” as we charge, convict & sentence the Juveniles to #X years punishment in a small cold dark cell, with poor food, poor medical care & no psychiatric help. If Juvenile X is ever released, then we shame him/her for his/her “Criminal record” & we make sure he/she can not get jobs. By now Juvenile X has developed a severe Personality disorder (8). He/she has also developed many decayed or missing teeth as a result of prison life. (9). Juvenile X's coronary arteries are now coated with cholesterol plaques & calcifications from the prison's high fat diet. Then, released Juvenile X becomes homeless as he/she walks down the road carrying his/her backpack looking for a bridge to get high & to go to sleep under. … & Another human being has been destroyed.  But, No one gives a damn.

*DRINKING is SEXY & JOHN DOE'S DUI: As a society we advertise during football games -- that drinking Beer & wine & other alcoholic beverages is Sexy. (10)  The voluptuous women in the tight black dress with high heels seductively walks up to & offers her male companion an alcoholic beverage – as they fall down onto the beach & the film blurs out. So modern society associates alcoholic beverages with being “Cool”. Then when John Doe drives home & kills someone in a motor vehicle accident. John Doe is charged with a DUI (11) & manslaughter. (12) We shake our heads in condemnation of John's behavior & we abandon Mr. Doe.  John Doe is Left for Dead. Then John Doe commits suicide. But, Nobody cares.

*The FRENCH RIVERIA & HORSE MEAT: We Homo Sapiens claim we love animals. We sell our beautiful race horses at auctions & walk away with $X pretending not to know about the terrifying 1,000 mile starvation & hip dislocating truck ride to the slaughterhouse in Mexico – Where our terrified best friends are brutally stabbed in the back of the neck & fall to the ground paralyzed -- & then stabbed in the front of the neck to bleed to death – All for a delicious gourmet Kentucky Derby horse meat dinner on the French Riveria. Cheers! A Votre Sante! & No one gives a damn. (13)

*FUKUSHIMA & TURNING a BLIND EYE to a LOOMING CATASTROPHE : “ M ore than a year after a devastating earthquake and tsunami triggered a massive nuclear disaster (at Fukushima in 2011), experts are warning that Japan isn't out of the woods yet and the worst nuclear storm the world has ever seen could be just one earthquake away from reality. The troubled Reactor 4 at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is at the centre of this potential catastrophe.” A large earthquake could cause a Fukushima nuclear radiological fire with unknown global consequences. (14) The world community has left the Japanese Fukushima nuclear power plants, the people, the animals & the affected ecosystems -- for dead. & Nobody cares.

III . HOW Can HUMANS DESTROY OTHERS with NO SENSE of GUILT?

*MORAL DISENGAGEMENT: “Moral Disengagement is a term from social psychology for convincing the self that ethical standards do not apply to oneself” & that allows “Inhumane conduct by disabling the mechanism of self-condemnation”. (15) I believe Bandura's theory of moral disengagement (16) (17) (18) explains why Christopher Columbus, the European settlers, U.S. government & American citizens committed genocide, apartheid & other crimes against humanity against the Native American Indians. I believe moral disengagement explains why people abuse children, torture animals & destroy ecosystems. Bandura's theory of moral disengagement explains psychological processes which disengage morality from conduct & which include: Moral justification of crimes, displacement & diffusion of responsibility, disregard for & minimization of consequences, & dehumanization. Perpetrators of violence use moral disengagement & “Switch off (their) conscience” & rationalize crimes with “Convoluted language to disguise what was done”, “reduce accountability”, & “ignore harmful effects” of offenses.

IV. WHY Do HUMANS WANT to DESTROY OTHERS?

*MALICE, HOSTILE IMPULSES & REVENGE: Malice is the: “ D esire to inflict injury, harm, or suffering on another, either because of a hostile impulse or out of deep-seated meanness .” (19) Some people have Malice as a result of being Harmed by another person, with a subsequent desire to get Revenge. (20)

*SCHADENFREUDE: Some humans want to destroy others because they find pleasure in harming others. For example, Schadenfreude is a German word which means: “Pleasure derived from the misfortunes (& suffering) of others”. (21)

*PLEASURE in SUFFERING: Here is an example of finding pleasure in another person's suffering: “I think that what I do take comfort in, his life is a living hell”. (22) Taking pleasure in a person's suffering is a feature of Humanocide & Bullying. For the record, I Mary Hamer will never take pleasure or comfort in anyone's life a living hell.

V. RESPECT & NAMASTE:

*The perpetrators of Humanocide with their intent to harm & destroy their targets -- often leave critically injured victims by the side of the road to die – i.e. Left for Dead. If we humans have a higher sense of morality, then we will make an active commitment to treating the Earth & it's living beings with Respect & Namaste – rather than Intentionally inflicting pain & suffering on others. May we all offer a helping hand, respect & a spirit of Namaste to those who are suffering. May we all bow to the divine in other humans, animals & the planet Earth.

Salaam. Shalom. Shanti. Peace.

Namaste. Thank you. Respectfully & Humbly, Mary Hamer, M.D. Florida . U.S.A.
