The American Insanity Conundrum

By Timothy V. Gatto

Countercurrents.org

It just goes to show that some people will never “get it”. The Progressive Press has whipped up a cauldron of molten ire against George W. Bush’s statement that the war in Iraq was “worth it”. My God, how could he say such a thing? The Progressive Press remarks; “Doesn’t he know that almost 4,000 Americans and untold Iraqi’s have died in a quagmire? Doesn’t he realize that the cost of this war is in the trillions? Doesn’t he realize that we are no closer to victory than we were five long years ago?”

Sure he does. He just doesn’t really care. He feels that as long as the defense contractors are making windfall profits along with Halliburton and their subsidiary KBR, and are getting gigantic no-bid contracts, and the Federal Reserve pours trillions of dollars at interest into the economy, making the bankers rich, and as long as the oil companies can get their hands on that Iraqi oil, the world is a great place. If you believe that he sees anything as wrong or right, you have a problem with your perception.

The Neo-Con’s in Washington don’t give a flying Goddamn about who says what about anything. They feel that as long as they are in control and can prosecute this war, they are doing what is in the best interests of the Military Industrial Corporate Complex. That’s the long and short of it, the alpha and the omega. If you think you can “shame” them into ending this war you don’t know what you are up against. The corporations, the bankers, the Federal Reserve, the defense contractors and the oil companies want this thing to go on forever.

The only way that we are going to stop it, is to make them stop it. The only way to make them is to physically stop them. The only way to do that is to take them out of office by impeachment or for Congress to eliminate the authorization for war. That’s the only two ways we can get this war machine stopped. If you are waiting for January and the new administration and the new Congress to stop this war, guess what? They are not going to do it. Let’s go back and review what I said previously; as long as the defense contractors are making windfall profits along with Halliburton and their subsidiary KBR, and are getting gigantic no-bid contracts, and the Federal Reserve pours trillions of dollars at interest into the economy, making the bankers rich, and as long as the oil companies can get their hands on that Iraqi oil, the world is a great place. This “great place” is either Republican OR Democrat. They BOTH work for the same people. One more thing about that; it’s not you or I, it’s them.

So, where does that leave all of us? It leaves us in the same place as we were in 1971. We need boycotts, marches, demonstrations, civil disobedience and to turn our backs on the two corporate owned political parties that continue to dominate us! If you think there is a difference between the “lesser of two evils” you are falling for the same damn trick over and over again. The only way we are going to stop this insane march to war and more war is to change the government. How that can be done is to turn our backs on the two political parties that got us where we are. We had better start thinking third party and start thinking about it fast. Let the other two parties go their own way. To hell with them! Those Democrats that have been fighting the “good” fight can always join a coalition of the willing… willing to end this war that is.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results. Do you want to be classified as insane? Look, this isn’t hard to figure out, it’s just commonsense. Keep putting the corporatists in power and they will work for the corporations, not you, not me. Am I getting through? I know it’s hard to believe that it’s just as simple as this, but in reality it’s not so simple at all. You must change your perception as to what is in YOUR best interests over WHAT the Military Industrial Corporate Complex and their media tell you. Keep listening to the corporate controlled media and they will keep you believing that you only have a limited number of choices. The fact is that you have many choices. The Democrats and the Republicans are no choice at all! Can you grasp this?

How about a Gravel/Paul ticket? What about Ralph Nader? Do you really believe that these people will listen to the corporatists? Why won’t you support them? Is it because the mainstream media says they don’t have a chance? Think outside the box for once in your lives. We have a short time to put this country right, or lose everything that those that have come before us put into it. This is OUR watch folks. We can either change the way it is today or forever hold our peace. The day to start is today. Today is all we have. We can stand up to these clowns that take profit from our blood, sweat and tears or lie down and do nothing. You have the choice of being a stooge or a patriot. The choice is all yours. I’ve made my choice. Fool me one then shame on you, fool me twice and I guess I’m an idiot. Are you an idiot? Time will tell that’s for sure. I don’t need a crystal ball to predict the future. I think I just spelled it out for you. The trouble here is who are you going to believe, me or the mainstream media? By the way, I’m not the only one that is telling you this. Maybe it’s about time we learned to think outside the television tube.

That’s the way I see it.
