Red Cross: Saudis Still Blocking Our Aid, Yemen Crisis Worsening;
Washington Increases US Bombs, Ammo Going to Saudi Tyrant

By Robert Barsocchini

Openly US-coordinated-and-assisted terrorist attacks by Saudi dictator Salman Abdulaziz have killed hundreds of civilians in Yemen, the poorest country in the Middle East, over the past two weeks.

The Red Cross continues to try to get Abdulaziz to stop blocking humanitarian aid from entering the country, saying the situation for civilians is catastrophic and getting worse.  Instead of allowing aid, Abdulaziz increased his attack by firing explosives into Yemeni cities from naval vessels, in addition to his airstrikes.

The tyrant yesterday killed at least two students and wounded six others when his explosives were detonated in a school.  He was purportedly targeting a nearby military base; however, “There were no casualties on the base, … apparently everyone hit was students at the school“.  The Wabbabi monarch, suspected of personally supporting Saudi-backed Wahhabi affiliate al Qaeda, is notorious for killing and torturing civilians.

In light of the above, Washington has openly announced that it is “stepping up weapons shipments to aid Saudi air campaign over Yemen … deepening US involvement” (McClatchy, 4/7/15).

McClatchy notes that this was confirmed by US military officials Tuesday, who said the new US shipments to aid the Saudi aggression “are mainly ammunition and bombs”.

In addition, the US official confirmed that it is adding more US military personnel to help coordinate the terror campaign from Saudi Arabia.

An unnamed official confirmed that the US is directly involved in physically assisting Saudi Wahhabi terrorists carrying out the bombings.

Further, “In Riyadh on Tuesday, Tony Blinken, the U.S. deputy secretary of state, reiterated American support for Saudi Arabia's campaign”, “acknowledged the U.S. weapons deliveries”, and confirmed the US was increasing its coordination with the dictatorship and other regional tyrants such as US-backed military junta leader Sisi of Egypt, whom Amnesty International reports uses rape as a weapon, and US-backed King Khalifa of Bahrain, whom Amnesty reports is a child-torturer.  (The US, for its part, has the world's highest rate of youth imprisonment, and uses torture techniques on minors).

Blinken stated that the Saudi aggression against Yemen is justified because of “legitimate security concerns that they [the Saudis] have along their border with Yemen.”  He did not alter the US position on Russian aggression” against border country Ukraine (which Russia has not invaded or bombed), carried out due to security concerns regarding the overthrow of the democratically elected Ukrainian president, a coup “spearheaded by neo-Nazi militias”, the Eastward march of the hostile US-led nuclear-militant organization, NATO, and the US decision to begin (on Hitler's birthday) openly arming neo-Nazi integrated militias attacking residents of eastern Ukraine who supported the elected president.

WB reader Kimyo noted a connection between the Washington oligarchy‘s current support for Saudi and other tyrants and a statement made by Robert Marion “Fighting Bob” La Follette Sr., a US Republican and later Progressive politician, during the WWI era:

When we cooperate with those governments, we endorse their methods; we endorse the violations of international law by Great Britain; we endorse the shameful methods of warfare against which we have again and again protested in this war.

Kimyo further quoted Wikipedia's note that “In many people's eyes during 1917 and 1918, La Follette was the most hated man in the country, for insisting that America had no business in the war and had been led into it by lies and trickery”, a point that is today fully documented and understood: the US at the time created an official propaganda agency, the Creel Commission, to “use every medium available to create enthusiasm for the war. … It primarily used propaganda techniques to accomplish these goals.”

La Follette was later acknowledged as “arguably the most important and recognized leader of the opposition to the growing dominance of corporations over the Government”, and a 1957 Senate Committee “selected La Follette as one of the five greatest U.S. Senators”.  Additionally, “A 1982 survey asking historians to rank the ‘ten greatest Senators in the nation's history' based on ‘accomplishments in office' and ‘long range impact on American history,' placed La Follette first, tied with Henry Clay.”

Notes:

1) A US army manual defines terrorism as “the calculated use of violence or threat of violence to attain goals that are political, religious, or ideological in nature…through intimidation, coercion, or instilling fear.”

Antiwar reports: “Saudi strikes have killed hundreds of civilians over the past week and a half, and have vowed to continue the strikes until Yemenis agree to reinstall former President Hadi as their ruler.”

Washington's Blog notes Hadi is a dictator who was “elected” by issuing a ballot with himself as the only option.

2) The Nuremberg Tribunal concluded:

And we must not allow ourselves to be drawn into a trial of the causes of the war, for our position is that no grievances or policies will justify resort to aggressive war. It is utterly renounced and condemned as an instrument of policy.
