With Kashmir People
19 August, 2010
STOP THE MASSACRES IN KASHMIR! FIND A DEMOCRATIC POLITICAL SOLUTION TO THE KASHMIR ISSUE!
JOIN SOLIDARITY DHARNA At ANTAR MANTAR 12 noon onwards
At an All India Left Convention held in New Delhi on 11 August, four fighting left parties – the CPI(ML) Liberation, the CPM Punjab, the Lal Nishan Party (Leninist) Maharashtra and the Left Coordination Committee Kerala – launched an All India Left Coordination (AILC). As resolved at the Convention, the AILC will observe a National Day of Solidarity with Kashmiri People on 20 August 2010.
The Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed across many state capitals, towns and districts all over India.
As part of this all-India protest programme, in Delhi on 20 August, a dharna will be held at Jantar Mantar from 12 noon onwards, which will be attended and addressed among others by CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya. We appeal to all to attend in large numbers, and in solidarity with the democratic aspirations of the Kashmiri people, demand that the UPA Government:
· Ensure peace, dignity and democracy for the people of Kashmir!
· Scrap AFSPA - Lift the military shadow from civilian life in Kashmir!
· Ensure a Credible Democratic Political Solution to the Long-Standing Issue of Kashmir!
